Orono varsity will be pretty weak. They lost probably their best player in Adam Estoclet to BSM..

orono

they lost their top F,D, and G. They are going to be in for an interesting year, something they havent seen for a while. could possibly be a downer on a program that has established itself as a premier one in the past couple of years.

Premier Team???

Post by gunslinger »

I know little or nothing about Orono’s current status, but I must comment on a comment made… it was that Orono had become a “premier” program. Im not saying that they have not improved, because I know they have. But what is the definition of PREMIER? Premier to me is making it to state and competing at the highest level. Making it the section semi’s….. I just don’t see that as premier.

-The Slinger

well 3 state tourneys in the last 4 years, 2nd place and 3rd place finishes, consistently in the 10 of the rankings.

i mean honestly Orono has never and will never be a premier team, they have to play a bunch of girls JV teams every year in order to make it to state, and I have no idea how they ever got anywhere at state, but when it came down to big games they always lost overwhelmingly like the year they took second place to breck. The only decent player they had last year was Will Smith, considering their goalie let in half the shots he saw, and their anchor on defense was simply some washed up football player with a broken back and a bad knee that got walked around more times than a deaf kid in a game of music chairs....

they go to state a lot more than blake and do it against public schools maybe if all your little private schools didnt recruite their players your section would be less difficult. im pretty sure they played some big games to get to breck, warroad being one of them that probably could have been considered just as big as the breck game. orono will not be very good this year but that because all their talent left them to go to private schools-estoclet and matson- and it would be a lot different if they had stayed. so stop talking about orono when u played for a school that had players on the team who were only there because there dad payed for them to sit on the bench such as ramsey wolfe who never legitimately made a "B" team in youth hockey and left a public school so he could go to blake and complain. i challenge you to a game of one on one pond hockey. time and place TBD

thanks for the info guys.
As for oronos past, I think that they have establish themselves as a premier team for a few years, even though they've lacked some big wins.

I still hate them though!<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/mad.gif ALT=">:">

thats just cheap taking shots at orono like that, blakes overrated and havnt done anything at state for years. i checked this wolfe kids stats and he did absolutely nothing...i dont see where he gets off saying these things. i dont even remember him on the ice when we played them. why do u hate orono smiley?

Wolfe Who

Post by DirtyDeuces »

first of all who and where did this wolfe kid come from, as well as the topic of Blake, I thought we were focusing on the patheticness of Orono, and PondHodkey Legend, its not like u even played hockey, let alone for orono, and if you can't play for orono I don't know why your on the ice at all to begin with, I hardly call the bench playing, and Breck God don't make me expose your true identity, cause we all know where that leads, im not about to drop any names here but I will if I have to.....

orono is in dire need of leadership and the only man who can provide that is todd weisjahn, whom orono foolishly let go this year. i mean honestly, who do you think the spartans looked to for inspiration throughout the year? the captains? dont kid yourselves. thank goodness they managed to hold on to coach lloyd though. he was truly a vocal presence in the locker room and should continue to be for years to come.

Orono

As for the comment that Orono will never be a "premier team", thats not nessicarilly true. Orono has some young studs that will be playing bantams this year and if the ones that already havent dont get recruited to private schools, they should have a damn good high school team when it is all said and done. Although, dont get me wrong, Orono varsity should be extremely weak this year.
