Come play in 5a, Orono wouldn't make it out of quarters.
What's your record against Breck? (0 for something).
How many D1 guys have come form there in the last 10 years. And lastly, pretty sure Blake made the tourny in 98 or 99. SO pull your head out, please, before you start ripping a program.

Blake did make it to the State Class A Tournament in 1995 & 1999. They lost in the Consolation Final in 1995 to Hutch in OT. They lost the 3rd place game in 1999 to Fergus Falls.

Blake has had some very good players over the past decade. In their most recent history (since 2000) they've always had good regular season teams but have not been able to get out of Section 5A (not an easy task anyway). We all know that post-season hockey is all about lucky bounces and hot goaltending. For some reason, even with all it's D-1 type talent, Blake has not been able to get past that final section game and to the "Big Dance". That should not take away anything from their top players. Congrats to all of them in achieving their D-1 dreams.

To All:

I believe that this year could be Blake"s year to win the section. With many returning juniors from last year and Kent Patterson in net, the odds are certainly with them.

Regards,
mnhockey39

outshot breck 45-15 and lost 6-3 with an empty net. beat st. thomas. also beat cretin 5-1 whom blake lost to. im not sure how many quality wins blake actually had, breck, benilde, and duluth marshall early in the year the day after they had just played breck. but hey orono dominated breck and also beat benilde. so dont act like blake played a good schedule. there schedule was much easier in comparison to oronos. sorry thats just how it is. so u had 3 quality wins.

so a coach who is at armstrong for 10 years and goes to to blake for a year makes him a blake product. i dont think so. however i dont really understand why u brought the coachs into the mix. orono would have been just as succesful with just about any coach. and we werent even talking about coachs we were talking about schedules and quality wins. look at me i can bring random things into the argument as well, who develops all of the players at blake. it most certainly isnt hamry.

Thanks for the info falcon. I talked to a very reliable source today, who said P is one of their top 5 D right now. Not bad for a freshman who didn't play in the "elite league", or juniors. I guess Hamre( get your spelling right Spartan) might know how to develop a player or 2.

well you guys lost to cretin 3-2 while orono beat them 5-1, why doesnt that qualify as a quality win. because you have a highly connected coach at a school that is renound for grades and have the parents to pay for their kids to go to these schools doesnt make them any better. im curious as to how many of these kids that keep going d-1 from blake are actually there on scholarship. i know for a fact at least 3 of them arent. and if blake is so damn good how come they cant win their section. i remember when they lost to slp who didnt win a game at state. and who did blake have to beat that year to get to the section finals. spring lake park and richfield.

i'm just gonna throw my two cents in. When we played blake last year (we lost both times) and when we played orono (we won), orono played a much better game against us then blake did in either game. but then why did you lose to blake? we did not play to nearly our potential, not to take anything away from blake but our orono game was top 3 hardest games that year for us, we felt lucky to get out of there with a win. had we played the way we did against blake, we would of easily won. stop downing orono they continuelly do good with what they have. and you made fun of someone for a typing error, your pretty cool

Stupid Comment

Post by falcons30 »

Spartan9, why would you make an idiotic comment like that!<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/mad.gif ALT=">:"> I hope I get this written before Lee locks it up. It never ceases to amaze me on the threads where someone is trying to acknowledge the accomplishments of others, some bonehead has to find a way to tear down that person or the school they attended or are attending. Instead why don't you take the time and maybe lookup a player maybe a little less recognized and see how they are fairing during their collegiate or junior career. Lee, I just looked at another poster on this thread as I'm writing this. It's getting disgusting! I was going to edit later with some links but I'm sure this'll be gone by the time I get back. Gotta Go.
