Clarification on the disallowed goal. A parent just let me know that the net was off and was a good call by the ref.HockeyDude20 wrote:It was 0-0 after regulation. Shots were NOT 50-10 in favor of JWCD. It was a very even game including shots. Goalie play was very good on both ends. There was a clear goal scored by 02s with a few minutes remaining that was not allowed.titleist wrote:jg2112 wrote:Jungels 1 - JWCD 0. I watched the first 15 minutes, it was scoreless when I left.
The JWCD goalie was a 2003 filling in for Meyers. She was very, very good.
Huh, I heard it was a 0-0 tie...with shots being about 50-10 in favor of JWCD....But Jungels team won the shootout. Sounds like a pretty good game.
Series so far through spring and summer stands at 3 W for 02s against 2 L. 3-1, 2-1, 1-4, 0-5, 1-0(shootout).
02 Os (formerly machine orange 02) played 01/02 Os today....

Watched the whole game since my daughter played right after that game. I would say without question that the RED team owned the play other than a handful of shifts where the BLACK team got rolling a little bit. Was right above the net and the net was clearly off before puck went in.
Was fun to watch really good hockey the RED Team was loaded # 24, #7, # 17 I think but they all where really good.

The 2002 that committed to Wisconsin...thoughts?
2002 peeps:
What is the scoop with Mackenna Webster (not from MN)?
She is the first 2002 and also the first of the HS class of 2020 to commit (that I have read about).
For those that have seen her play is she head and shoulders above the others class of 2020 girls that are either birth year 01 or 02? Or is there an older kid in the metro that you might draw comparisons with?
Just wondering and sort of needed a hockey fix this Thursday afternoon!
Its almost time for association and HS hockey...we are about 2 months away!!!

I've seen her play a handful of times. First saw her 3 summers ago when my daughter was playing on an 02 NAPS team in Buffalo. Webster spilt her time that weekend between my daughters 02 team and an 01 team. Our 02 team has played her a couple times. Once a few years ago when CYA came up to play us. She joined them that weekend. We played a team last summer in the Os Shootout and she was on it. We lost in Shoot out but she scored a ridiculous short handed goal that I remember.massalsa wrote:2002 peeps:

She typically plays with the 01 West Coast Selects team in the summer. Prior to playing at SSM she played St. Louis Lady Blues but up an age level. She is the best 02 I have seen. So quick and fast. Reaches top speed in 3-4 strides. She was one of the top scorers, maybe the top, on the 16U National Champ 16U team at SSM as an 02. Associate head coach at WI has coached a lot of the West Coast Selects teams the last couple years so he has been developing those relationships for a while now.
Honestly, I don't know if there is even an 01 in MN that you can compare her to. Certainly not an 02 in MN.

I am not sure merge is the correct term. There were a number of skaters from both teams (30 in total I believe) invited to JWCD.Mavs wrote:I thought Jungles team had 30 skaters alone?
I believe there will be three teams. Two JWCD teams and one 01/02 OS Elite team (which is what the 02 skated as last year).

Yes, all 30 got to play. 18 skaters were brought to each tournament. Obviously some played more and some played less. There were a multiple of factors that came into play, as to who was on a specific tournament team. Some chose not to travel and only participated in local tournaments. Some only chose one travel tournament and some chose multiple. You would have to double check with the coaches, but I think there was only 1 tournament where they didn't take players that indicated they would go.InigoMontoya wrote:Did you think all 30 of them got to play?Mavs wrote:I thought Jungles team had 30 skaters alone?

There will be 36 skaters and 2 goalies on the JWCD team in 2017. There are 13 skaters coming over that will be new to the team. Almost all the new girls are from the Ziegler team. Along with two new goalies.zambonidriver wrote:team surge in the elite league and team reebok are the core players of JWCD I think not sure though.
The team will have two teams participate in each tourney (NAHA details will be worked out later). We are not sure how the teams will be divided for each tourney yet. We will determine that after the girls are together for a bit. We are very excited about this group. It is a extremely talented group and the new girls are very welcome additions.
Team Surge in the Elite League is all 02 birth year girls. Three of them (a F, a D and a goalie) are new to the team and have been very impressive this fall. The rest are from 02 OsMachine. There are some 02 OsMachine that are not playing in the Elite League. Team Reebok has seven or eight 01 girls that will be a part of the JWCD team next year. There are 10 or so girls rostered on Team Reebok that are not on the JWCD team next year. There are a couple 01s joining the team that are currently on the 16U White Cap teams in Elite League.
The current 9th grade class is very deep. It is a very talented group of girls. Beyond the JWCD teams there will be one, possibly 2, additional teams at Os that will play at the 16U level next year.
Looks like a lot of the 02's that are 9th graders made their HS teams. Should be fun to see how they do this HS season!
Was looking at the MNHSL hockey pages to see who made many of the teams. Most rosters look fairly final at least to start the season. A few schools still have large rosters that most likely will be paired down and some have nothing on the roster section.

I started at Minnetonka and worked my way thru lots of other teams by clicking on opponents. I do not believe that Edina had any 02's. So I imagine that their u15 team will be strong again (despite losing Kuehl/Adams/Wethington/others? but a couple of other strong teams from last season have lost a bunch of good players.
