Fun Game

Post by tututangous »

The SPA/St. Cloud game was played at a much higher skill level than I expected. I really enjoyed watching both teams play.

The St. Cloud goalie is everything that I've been talking about all season, he's big and very technical. He kept his team in the game and did his job. Not one of the AA goalies compare to him (other than that one EP JV goalie I took flack about). He is also big and technical, and in my opinion, should be the tournament goalie for EP... I digress...

Anyway, Cathedral didn't shoot at the net enough. SPA's goalie would have given up many more goals if they would have tested him.

Can't wait to watch the SPA matchup vs. Hermantown. I pick SPA for the upset.

Obvious replies about parentage aside I agree with the OP. SPA was a much better team than SCC, statistics proved that out, but the SCC goalie was good, covered alot of net, and kept them in the game. SCC could have very easily stolen that game after being outplayed most of the night. Did not know much about that Devlin McCabe (sp?) for SPA but wow, showed up big. Only a soph and already over 100 points on his career and played Varsity in 8th grade. I missed the name but an announcer said there was a player on one of the teams who last year was playing PeeWees and is now playing Varsity in the Tournament? That's impressive too.

SPA looked fast last night and I expect them to give Hermantown a game. Hawks vs a private school. Which side are you on?
