Litch played 5 games against 'way better' competition. Had over 45 shots in one of those games and number may have been skewed.
Had over 38 in one other game.
Against a team that definitely was way better they had 16 shots.
Support your team but don't BS the BSers.
In the only game between these two, Litch outshot them 35 to 31, but lost 6-3. But Litch had 8 more minutes in penalty time so should have had 10 more shots.
Litch needs to stay out of the box and Luverne needs 12 or more penalty minutes for this to be close.
6 to 2 for Luverne.
what I'm sayi,g is litch averaged 45 shots a game through the regular season so saying that if erikson makes 18 saves Luverne wins is ridiculous. I'm not sayin litch is a lock to win this game I'm saying I think it's going to be much closer than all of you homers think. I'd give each team 40 ish shots. Gonna be a goaltenders game if it doesn't start and stay physical.
Okay.
I don't agree there will be that many shots.
Litch shots average is about 43 but skewed by some poor competition with 50, 60, 70 80 shots for them.
I would expect them to put up about 28 to 32 shots. Scoring twice.
And I am by no means a Luverne homer, nor fan. I do enjoy the 3A thread.

Yeah I heard there were a lot of people fishing around in this thread..
LDC scores 4 goals. IDK if they win, but they score at least 4. Luverne goalie has not been able to play well enough to give them a close win all year, probably lost them a few games. He will crap the bed. LDC needs to shoot early and often, pucks will find the net.
7-4, 6-5 type game. Luverne wins this game circa 7 times out of 10.

Exactly my point. If Luverne's goalie can muster up 18 saves they will win easily. I am not sure that will happen. Luverne's defense is also bad. So there is that.
Ericson playing as good as he has all year. No way would Luverne trade tenders at this point of the season with Litch.
Litch has one line, and it's not nearly as talented as Luverne's top line. If Luverne manipulates last change, and is willing to adjust if things aren't working, we're looking at the third consecutive run time win for the cardinals.
If litch stays out of the box, and gets better than his usual play from their tender, they can get some momentum and anything can happen.
I'm nervous already. Going to be a great atmosphere at the GAC and Patrick's

agreed that top lines are not an even match but neither are 2-3 like I said earlier litch's third line has really stepped up. Need the top line to focus on playing good tough d on Nelson and smedsrud. Not discounting the other kid on that line is it Kruse? But I think if litch holds that line to 2 goals they can get the upset. pretty pumped for this game. Will be a good test for both teams, can't wait to see how it shakes out. Word has it litch has two fan bus booked up. Place should be rock in.

Ok so stop Luverne line one then you got back to back hattricks coming at ya from behrend on line 2 plus beers and harder. If this Luverne squad hits on all cylinders like they have for the last month it wont be stopped. However, they haven't been in a competitive game for over a month. If it's close, not sure how they will react.
With that said, how did Litch barely squeak by Marshall and then Hutch? Luverne dismantled this two teams.
Should be Luverne's game to lose. Again. Hopefully they will not let LDC get them out of their obviously proven game plan. And I would agree that based on stats, the goalie will play a big factor, as will the weak Luverne defense. But if you have a line that controls the puck so well, the poor defense isn't going to hang you most likely (in this game). The third player on that first line seems to have a @#$% ton of penalty minutes so if LDC were smart they might try to have some bird calls ready. chirp.... chirp.....

You mean dragon shouts?
Let's ask NUSE how many they had??
We can put the NUSE talk to bed Whiner. Being a team who has been to state 4 outta the last 6 years I can understand you are still envious of NUSE's success in the section you love so much. Turn your attention to the upcoming battle of the Red Army and the Mean Green and certainly don't overlook them like you may have with Lord's bunch last year.

notTONIGHT going to be at Patricks?
You setting up an ambush?
Was going to be sure a Schell's light was waiting at the table for you!

having never been to a section final at GAC before, how early should one plan to be to the arena to ensure entry/a decent seat for the game on Wednesday?

45 minutes easily, hour would not hurt as parking is always interesting too. Goldy recommends getting to Saint Peter 2 hours early and spending the first hour at Patricks on 3rd. I've been told they have ice cold Schell's light bottles ready to be drank. If you're lucky Whiner may buy you a prairie fire.

thanks for the suggestion Goldy... has the championship games sold out the past few years or do all the good seats just get taken that early?

Will be a sellout crowd! They won't turn them away though!

the same could be said about Lucerne and redwood. If my memory serves me correctly litch 10 runned redwood. All that matters this time of the year is wins doesn't matter how much or how little. Hutch played a very physical game and Marshall took advantage of almost all of their opportunities.

The line to get in will be over a city block long. The seats will be gone early. But you will be able to get in. Last year they were 4 or 5 deep behind the stands in the standing area.
Its the best game of the year. Its a spectacle.
The best was in Mankato though. The famous trap game.

I agree anything can happen. But I don't think Luverne will score on themselves this year.

Thanks for the advice.. I had only planned on showing up about 30 minutes early but that plan is out the window now.... sounds like getting there by 6:30 might be the best plan...

haha poor kid on my team did that out senior year in section finals. Never seen somebody so bummed
