He was actually born in Grand Rapids. Then Babbitt recruited him away. :)

Langenbrunner was an import.

Care to elaborate? He played squirts, peewees, bantams and varsity at Cloquet. Unless you mean his place of birth, which everyone has wrong anyway.
Until he was about 12 he played in Intl Falls.
They moved back to Cloquet when he was in 3rd grade. He was born 15 miles from Cloquet and it's not where everyone thinks. 3 of 4 brothers were born in different cities. I guess I'd consider an import someone like Petrov or Novak or Pavlatos who came in high school.

In Elliot's defense, there was probably a lot of 12 year old, 3rd graders back in the day. :)

That's a good list. I remember how long it took for Degrio to get from one end of the rink to the other. Not very long. The guy could flat out fly.

He was from before my time so I had to look him up. I'm sure he was a good player but from what I saw I'd nominate Zane Gothberg over him.

Absolutely Mulefarm, and count Mike Baumgartner in that group as well. Lucky to have these fine gentlemen still living in Roseau and hanging around the rink, too.

If you are talking about careers as high school players I think the winning vote getter from Moorhead at the time would have been Ryan Kraft.

Oh, and Jamie Langenbrunner is actually from Moorhead......not Cloquet.

He wasn't born there, and never played one season in MYHA. But you are correct, they did live there briefly.
