Thanks for the update Mark!CherryPicker99 wrote:I'm still here! Just not nearly as entertaining as the others. I've been anticipating their posts too.
Luverne has some things to figure out. I didn't see the Waseca game but did see the Orono game. The Cards were flat. Not sure how they could not be up for this game. Need to find some balance. Line one is good but they cannot be on the ice all game. They were beat by the end of the first period. They need to put some trust in the youngsters to produce and hold their own. Orono was a good team. Out hustled and out played Luverne in every aspect. Orono's goalie made some incredible saves. He played a great game. I think Luverne will continue to struggle in these games until they find a way to be more balanced.

Glad to hear you are alive my man! Yes, I think having a game like this weekly will not only help your team, but more importantly the entire program. Can't win with one line/one player. Case in point, Justin Kloos and Lakeville South several years ago. Kid can be a one man wrecking machine, but when you come across a team with some depth its over.Whiner33 wrote:Sats, I'm not making excuses for anyone but the cards were in the game vs Orono. Score was 4-1 yes but ask Parrish what he thought? You can call the fan line on Friday with all your questions for him? Think they enjoyed their time down in Luverne. Yes we need to beat a top team at some point in order to be relevant! We need a game like this every week on our schedule!Sats81 wrote:Come out of hiding boys! I want Luverne to be relevant and a top 5-10 class A school because it only means hockey is alive and well in more parts of MN.
Kloos did, singlehandedly, take out the best team in the state in the quarterfinals that year...Sats81 wrote:Glad to hear you are alive my man! This is true, Joe Freemark however pretty much shut down the Tonianato, Randolph, Olson himself.Traxler wrote:Kloos did, singlehandedly, take out the best team in the state in the quarterfinals that year...Sats81 wrote:Glad to hear you are alive my man! What happened the next night though against BSM? Ran out of gas. Can't live like that and be a top 5 AA team.
Then the Saturday game was a bit of a hangover from the Friday night game. Waseca played the best they could play and still got beat 6-2. You know what I'm saying and get the game. That was bottom lineSats81 wrote:Glad to hear you are alive my man! Yes, I think having a game like this weekly will not only help your team, but more importantly the entire program. Oh cute, Trout Signing off for trout from a new trout account. ENJOY 6A!HILARY2016 wrote:Tough to keep top southern MN talent at home the whole hs career.InYourFace09 wrote:3A is pretty low key with no Trout and Luverne losing a couple games.
Trout headquarters may have moved but it still looks like this.

I thought it was these supposedly top coaches that southern MN couldn't hold onto? I guess it was time to head home wasn't it Hilary?! Hope you have a new stocking cap for her campaign??HILARY2016 wrote:Tough to keep top southern MN talent at home the whole hs career.InYourFace09 wrote:3A is pretty low key with no Trout and Luverne losing a couple games.
Hilary, is it tough? What's the name of the last "top southern MN talent" player that left a So Minn high school early? I can think of Schaeffer from Marshall who left for juniors, but otherwise seems like the kids have stayed put lately. Did I miss someone?HILARY2016 wrote:Tough to keep top southern MN talent at home the whole hs career.InYourFace09 wrote:3A is pretty low key with no Trout and Luverne losing a couple games.

Sorry OU, I was referring to kids moving onto a more competitive high school. I believe New Prague has lost a few, Mankato to SSM, Rochester to South. I am sure you have had a few leak out to NAHL or even that Iowa scrub AAA, but that is not what I meant. I am not aware of anyone at Marshall playing juniors or beyond so I can't comment on that. As the talent rises there probably will be others seeking opportunities to schools where they can get more exposure.OU812 wrote:Hilary, is it tough? I hear you. Still, I guess I don't really see more players "seeking opportunities" recently to leave SoMinn high school than I see kids leaving HS programs in the metro. It happens but not just down here was my point.HILARY2016 wrote:Sorry OU, I was referring to kids moving onto a more competitive high school. Btw the kid from Marshall is Nolan Schaeffer, a '97, who left HS when he was about 16 and has since played in the NAHL and USHL. Also I think Logan vonRuden, a '96 from Northfield, left a year early for juniors.
