Interesting picks from the North Region given Moorhead only has 1 loss on the season and is 3-0 vs the two teams listed here. Especially given Moorhead was depleted by injury during the Rapids Cloquet swing and will now be at full strength.

NORTH: Cloquet upsets Moorhead in Championship; Grand Rapids beats Moorhead for #2 seed.

SOUTH: Centennial beats Prior Lake in Championship; the Lakers rebound against Sibley for #2 seed.

EAST: Edina over Wayzata in Championship; Wayzata over STMA for #2 seed.

WEST: Elk River over 'Tonka in Championship; 'Tonka over Eden Prairie (!!) for the #2 seed.

Exactly 50% correct ... still better than your prediction tyvm.

Hit 4 / 8 with the Jefferson underdog. I'm in the money,

DR, your math is off today? ... you are 4/8 and I am 5/8. But good call on Moorhead and Jefferson though!

Oh, and the D3/6 schedule teams took 5 of the available 6 metro spots.

Edina
Wayzata
Minnetonka
Jefferson
OMG

And Prior Lake and Eden Prairie were both 3rd places in their regions.

That's pretty impressive.

Bantam AA state

Post by redtundra »

Any early predictions? Looks like a great field this year with arguably the 4 top teams in the state getting # 1 seeds. The top team gets the unenviable 1st game against a very good Rapids team. Neighbors Tonka and Wayzata, and Edina and Jefferson get to square off 160 miles from home. And the one team no one seems to know anything about has 1 loss all year and faces a very good goalie and a sound defensive team from OMG. If the chalk holds, Semifinal Saturday should be awesome with the top 4 teams squaring off. Should be fun. I would like to see Moorhead against Centennial in the final, with Moorhead the Champ. No idea why.

Will say the best 8 teams made to the state, no surprise and no upset really in the regionals. Thought the commitee did a great job distributing the non-norther teams in the 3 regions. Good luck with the 8 teams that are still standing, should be a good state tournament.

Centennial vs. Edina in the final.

WBL, Stillwater and Owatonna, don't play in D8 schedule if you want to get through regionals.
