The disappointing part was that there were 3 teams on the ice; HF, BSM and the Referees. It is my opinion that both teams were equally disadvantaged by excessive penalty calls but the flow of the game was the biggest victim as a result of the number of calls.

Power play was tilted towards HF and "tilted" may not be a strong enough statement. HF talent coupled with maybe the PK style of BSM allowed HF to take a ton of shots and if you let #10/#16 along with #2/#18 have enough chances they will beat you.
.
I quoted the two parts of your response I want to talk about.

Someone else mentioned how they were unpleased with the refs because there was too many penalties. That is comical, they have no control over how many penalties the PLAYERS commit. If they don't call these OBVIOUS penalties than they aren't doing their job and that is when they start to become bad refs. To be honest, they missed plenty of calls and if you watched either coach or listen to the crowd they were begging for more.
If you want less penalties in a game than the coach better teach more discipline because both teams were lacking it.

As for the Powerplay situation, I don't have much to argue with you here, I agree Holy Family's was better. Benilde play very laid back on the PK and was trying to rely on shot blocking when defending it.
My only comment on this was how I found it kind of funny that you thought it was so one sided for Holy Family, even though Benilde's winning goal came off the Powerplay.

Im a neutral observer, but agree with OTB comments.

In a close tie game up to 3 minutes left, and a final win by 1 goal, home ice could have made the difference. Never mind whether they should have played a worse team to begin with. To the comment that they needed to prove themselves on the ice, the reply is they already did during the regular season. Seeding is very important, and in this case the Lake Conference coaches stuck together and seeded HF too low.

However,in this game HF was their own worst enemy in some respects in that they were undisciplined at times and refs had a target on Garins back after a couple initial penalties and chatter on ice and from the bench.

We will see what happens with remaining section 6 games.

If EP goes down, it seems to me Elk River will move up to 5th seed at State, leaving the Section 6 team unseeded there.

Several questionable calls by the refs. Both ways.

BSM scored on that late power play to take the lead. Based on how both refs got together to discuss the call, you knew HF was going to get a make-up call.

My point is that, the stripes completely wrecked the flow of that game from the start to the end.

It's a shame really. Entertaining game? It was like watching a bad comedy: I laughed real hard, but am now dumber for having viewed it.

So what are the SF matchups in 6AA? EP vs Tonka and BSM vs Wayzata? Would not be surprised at all to see Pauly pull some magic and lead BSM through this section.

No BSM plays EP and Tonka plays Wyz.

Wyz struggled to beat Hopkins, only at the last minute 1 to 0

From the box score:

You didn't mention that their "school history" in Class AA only dates back to 2002. They won the A title in 2001 and two years before that in 1999. Plenty of other schools have been a lot more "ordinary" than three state championships in the past 15 years.

So you agree the comment this is an "unordinary team", meaning every other year they are super duper fanatasic..? 1 AA title in 15 years for a private school that recruits heavily (like all private schools do) isn't Super duper.

I hope EP pounds them Saturday.

Given the number of years BSM has been AA and their overall success they are considered a hockey power. I know you wanted your HF team to win a playoff game for once but a poorly coached undisciplined team is hard to win with. 16 for HF crosschecked the ref after the game and that's why he was given the abuse of officials call. I doubt he will be back next year but if he does he should be suspended for minimum of 10 games.

Why do hope for that? You don't like private schools because they recruit kids to their school? If true, you should also hope LVN, Prior Lake, Wayzata, Edina, Minnetonka, Maple Grove, Bloomington Jefferson, and many others get pounded because they have all "recruited" players in the recent history.

And when you use an adverb "heavily" in reference to recruiting does that mean they are sending out Direct Mail campaigns, TV commercials, Living Room visits, billboards??? Please explain.

Well they're the last private school to win it (2012). Hill-Murray is the next most recent, in 2008. They also have just one title in the current century.

We'll see what happens...

I like most privates and most public Schools alike. I let you use your imagination on the recruiting comment.

Why do I want EP to Pound on Benilde on Saturday?

Real Simple: I like seeing Benilde lose. Is that good enough for you...?

- Any chance you can repeat your first sentence for me?
- I will take it to mean that since I am supposed to answer my own question using my imagination is that you really don't know.
- yes, that works. I am completely satisfied and sincerely believe your answer was thoroughly considered and properly communicated. Well done.

They do play in the most challenging section in the state. If they made it out of there more than they might have more championships.
Benilde has been to State four times. They have three championships and one 3rd place finish. So, in their history at State they only have one loss. Ask Moorhead or White Bear Lake if that winning percentage is good.

1. Much better.
2. Not a convincing statement about your knowledge of RECRUITING.
3. I never said thank you so not sure why you felt it was appropriate to respond with "your welcome". A response to me with "thank you" would have been better but you were close so we will count it as a sufficient.

Funny comment about HF being undisciplined as BSM is widely regarded as the least disciplined team out there. Outdone last night I guess.

If Benilde plays like last night, there is no doubt in my mind that EP will pound them.

Specifically the passive PK they flashed vs HF.

The question is, which Benilde team shows up Saturday?

1. Glad you understand now. I was getting worried about your comprehension skills.
2. Not intended to be a convincing statement about recruiting. I will take this to mean since you didn't answer your own question about recruiting - that YOU real don't know. I quite sure you've never had a kid of your own in hockey or even have kids and so therefor you might not know. But hey, thats alright, I will let that slide. The recruiting topic and knowledge will be better served on a different thread.
3. You said 'Well Done". I said Thank you.

You are not very intelligent. Frankly, you could be the dumbest person on here. If you have a hard time reading those two sentences I will attempt to state it in a way that may make more sense to you:

- You juhst not all that enformd aboit things and stuf. I quite sure you've never had a kid eithr. Thats alright.

No intelligent things to say anymore, so we starting name calling? You must be a genius! I didn't know I was dealing with a mental fidget. But, hey, your going places - keep up the good work kid...

Next topic, I am sure we will have a more constructive conversation.

But I did not call you a name. I made a derogatory statement about your intelligence but I did not call you a name. I could easily have called you a name or just made up some word like "fidget" and called you that but decided to stay focused describing what I believe to be a progressive case of cognitive dissonance.

Seriously though, what is a "fidget"? I assume it is a term that carries a negative connotation about my stature or size? Help me understand so I can get the full thrust of your words into my underdeveloped brain.

But I will agree with you to move on to the next topic - EP by a few.

Cognitive dissonance? Nice word - but I have no mental stress or discomfort caused by two different sets of beliefs - thanks for asking.

I think I will let your underdevloped brain rest for the evening - Might be to much for you to take in at this point. Run along now - your mommy has dinner waiting.

We will pick this up after the game on Saturday...
