But hockey is homer by nature. Gopher fans rarely watch NCAA play-off games once their team is out (they are not the only ones to react this way).
That is why NCAA hockey games are not televised on more than a local level. Hopefully the NCAA Championship game is not put back on "ocho".
Look at NCAA basketball. Everyone loves to hate basketball, but ratings are high and while maybe some interest is driven by "how are my brackets" doing ... every minute of every game is on TV.
NBC is trying to elevate interest in the pro game, but that endeavor is not simple either.
