Hope this is a good game.
Does the physical game last night vs DE take something out of Eagan, or do they have enough in the tank to keep up that style of play? For Edina, does the "Cake walk" over Stillwater and their ability to play 4 lines and 3 sets of defense mean they are well rested for another run to the championship?
I'm cheering for Wildcats, but think the Hornets will prevail.

If Eagan can repeat their performance from last night, I see it 3-2 Eagan. Edina has not faced a defensive juggernaut in quite some time. If Lindgren is on his game, it will be tough for Edina to get more that 1 or 2 past him. Either way, I see the winner of this game going on to with Saturday as well. Should be entertaining!

In my mind, they story of this game is Eagan's goaltending vs. Edina's high powered offense. If Edina doesn't score quickly and let's Lindgren get in a groove, this could be a low scoring, muck it in the corners kind of game. However I do expect Giles' boys to come out flying, so this should be a really, really good game. Edina 4-1 Eagan

The best goalie in the state against another top 10 goalie, who as a senior should have gotten one of the two Brimsek goalie nominations instead of the one who was barely in the top 50 statistically.
Another story is the physical play of Eagan D's which has stepped up a notch or two since Edina played them in January. That was on display last night, or just ask LV North about that, in the last game between the two in the regular season.However, Edinas own physical game has also stepped up when needed with Nanne, Fidler, and Bellows among others.
In the final analysis, Edinas high powered three offensive lines will outlast Eagan in the third period, and Lindgren wont be able to stop them all. Probably about to 3 to 1 , Edina wins.

This matchup reminds me of the Eagan/Eastview section final in 2013. Eagan had the the 3 lines of firepower and Eastview had the defence and hot goaltender. The stifling defence and hot goaltender prevailed.
Earlier in the year Eastview had also upset the Wildcats, just as Eagan has already beat Edina in an "upset" earlier this year.
I'll go with the history lesson and expect defence to prevail, which it usually does in big games.

Proud of my Wildcats last night, great game, big plays by Muck, Lindgren and Elz. Extremely tough matchup tonight with the Hornets but if the boys stick to their game, defense first, stay out of the penalty box and limit mistakes in the D zone we got a great chance to pull this off. GO CATS !!

Don't know much about goalie stuff but if true Randolph is a master or has a very strong supporting cast. Surprising it wouldn't result in a two minute penalty for illegal equipment. If breezers slit in the leg can be 2 minutes shouldn't a illegal mask be as well? Maybe Giles wants to measure the width of the pads before the start of the game.

I think this game comes down to Lindgren and the Edina Defense.
Edina offensively will move the puck around and get there chances. Eagan's defense is very good and will poise a challenge for Edina but the Hornets will generate some chances, but the question is will be able to chip a couple by Lindgren. Compared to last time they played Eagan they could not get it by him with 40 something shots.
The biggest thing is if Edina can shut down Eagan's offense. If Edina takes away Eagan's opportunities like they have done to teams recently there set. Someone said it above that everyone thinks Edina is all Offense when in reality they're very strong on defense too. They gave up the 3rd fewest goals in AA (behind Wayzata and Eagan) and I think Edina might have some of the best 2-way forwards to come back and help out on D in the state.
Really looking forward to this game it should be a blast. Im going 3-2 for the Hornets tonight.
I love my hornets but regardless of who wins tonight I will be rooting for that team in the Championship.

Edina was able to play 6 D for most of the game last night and will be prepared to play 4 or maybe 5 tonight. Eagan played essentially 3 D last night rotating in 22 and selectively spotting 13. It will be interesting if Muck and Wolf are able to log the minutes they played last night. Back to back games may be tough and they'll both need to exert a bit more energy to help offensively. They showed a stat on the TV broadcast that Wolf had played like 35 minutes with maybe about 8 minutes still left in the 3rd plus he had a 2 minute penalty so below his average rest time in the box. Had to finish with 40+ minutes. I'll take the cake eaters 3-1.

Great game by the Hornets tonight!
Defensively they were on fire and that was the main reason they won this game tonight in my opinion. They were challenging the Eagan forwards with active sticks and stepping up, they blocked a ton of shots, the forwards came back and caused some solid pressure, Rohkohl was on and the help from the pipe a few times came in handy.
Malmquist was spectacular in the game but I thought the offense was trying to do too much at times trying to set up a perfect play instead of getting pucks to the net.
Overall I think if the Hornets can play like this again they will have a good chance to win.
I hope to see Bellows back on the ice tomorrow, I know he finished off the game but he looked a little off and man did he take a shot. That was a bad suicide pass he got.

Eagan Top Line Injuries in Semis?
Does anybody have any information on 2nd period injuries to Eagan 1st line wings? I'm guessing #25 is out with concussion, missed what happened to #7. Neither played in the 3rd period. Does anybody know anything?
