That's an over exaggeration-

But I wouldn't be at all suprised to see East have the top seed Wedensday.
DE could've "easily" won state the last 5 years.

Of course it is an embellishment, and there is no legitimate way East could be seeded ahead of ER. Not that ER is a clear cut 1 seed, but they will not be seeded behind East. This has turned into an evenly matched meddling section and that what makes it fun for us

I completely agree they should be above East. But it might not happen that's all I was saying.

Interesting take. Don't know if I agree having East at 1 based on his "east always gets number one seed" reasoning.

Tuesday - Andover at Blaine and Rapids at Denfeld. Should bring a little clarity to 3&4 seeds in the section. Any predictions?

Interesting in that it would benefit Rapids to avoid East if they get the 3 seed and East is at 2. I'm sure they like their chances against ER based on their success against them.

Does the thought of how well a team would do at the state tournament impact the seeding vote at all? I ask because it's been said that the vote goes as follows: Each coach seeds the other 8 teams, then each coach makes a case for their team, then they seed again and that's the final seeding. So, what does "make a case for their team" mean? Does Randolph say, "I have a great record in the section tournament so we should be seeded #1." And does Roberts say, "We have the best team we've had in years and have beaten lots of top flight teams in the state this year, so we should be seeded #1."

I'm just trying to figure out what goes into the discussion that happens between the seeding votes.

If I understand Doug's seedings on Follow the Puck I think he has 7AA this way:

1. Duluth East
2. Grand Rapids
3. Elk River
4. Forest Lake
5. Andover
6. Cloquet
7. St. Michael-Albertville
8. St. Francis
9. Cambridge

I guess I agree with 6-9, but the Top 5 look off to me. I don't think Elk River has done enough to lose the top seed and I don't think anyone else has done enough to take it. I think the top 5 will be as follows:

1. Elk River
2. Duluth East
3. Grand Rapids
4. Andover
5. Forest Lake

When do we find out on Wednesday? Late at night or is it an afternoon thing?

I understand an argument for east above elk river, but I don't understand rapids above elky. Or why Andover is so low....

I don't buy into it, but I think it has something to do with Elk River's mini-collapse after losing Zerban. Since during that time East didn't look impressive either, I don't see how East should be above Elk River.

Again, I don't think east deserves it at all. ER has a better resumè. But I think Randolph will talk about body of work, use the wins over wayzata, EP, Breck, the blowout over rapids while Elky lost, and taking the best team in the state to OT. And that Elk River got east in the beginning of the year when Kolar was injured and no lines were situated.

Let's not give the legend that much credit, there are 8 other teams in the section.

I also forgot to add that Andover won against ER 5-2 while East beat Andover 3-1 even though it was before they got hot.

Did ER have 1st liner Reggie Lutz when they played East? I know he missed some games early with a broken femur. I'm sure some of their players might have colds for the East game also. The legend would not stoop that low would he?

Once again, I agree with you..... ER should have the number one seed. But ERs win over east will not be a big factor in the seeding because if we use that logic then Rapids and Andover would be above ER.... And cloquet would be above east

Just Rapids, ER split with Andover. It's just fun poke fun at the Legendary Coach. I would like to talk to him sometime and get more input on his thoughts in inventing the game of hockey.

There are a lot of arguments for each of the top 4 teams (FL even has an argument to be ahead of Andover as the won their only meeting this year). Bottom line is that it comes down to the 9 coaches. They are professional and will seed each other according to how they interpret the arguments made by each of their fellow coach.

Everyone has their own biased opinion but setting that aside what will be the criteria for seeding? Is it section play, head to head, common opponent and overall record. Which one carries the most weight? I still think the seeding will end up with the outcome like this.
1. ER
2. DE
3. Andover
4. GR
5. FL
6. Cloq
7. STMA
8. STF or CI

I think Andover really has a shot.

My guess is that the coaches are just as confused as all of us and don't know what criteria should have the most weight.
