3A's thoughts on the game.

1.) Hutch must be down this year.

2.) It was the young goalies fault for hutch.

3.) Luverne should have called off the dogs after they got up 1-0. How dare they try to score more goals.

4.) Luverne is collapsing, not a good showing, they needed to win 14-0.

5.) Luverne better hope they dont have to play Marshall cause Campion has their number.

As 100 million people found out last night... "Anything can happen!".

You need to show up and play the game.

I think Luverne has a good chance tonight as my "Spaghetti test" shows them winning 8-1 with a LOT of players getting to see the ice tonight.

Friday, I'm picking Luverne over Hutch 4-1.
I give up on this Spaghetti deal.... WAY TOO INACCURATE! :D

Like I said in an earlier post, I've followed this thread since Day 1. I live in NE MN so I have no dog in the fight. I admire 3A Scout's passion for the game and the effort that he puts in to post and promote the game. But having said that, it is very obvious to me that he has had a bias towards Luverne from the start. For the life of me, I can't figure out why this is. Maybe he is a hardcore fan of a certain team, lives in that town, etc. I have no idea.

This is an exciting team and a great story. I read the Let's Play Hockey article last night and I'm rooting for Luverne. I think most Hockey people would be.

3A Scout, I acknowledge that you've come around over the last three months. You went from hating on Luverne to showing a little bit of respect for them, but not that much. From a Hockey fan in Duluth, please answer a question for me. What in the world do you have against Luverne?????????

Agreed, it is a very interesting story for 3A. Huge win for Luverne last night..IMO Hutch is a very overrated team especially with their lack of skill at the goaltender position, and Luverne must have played very well, holding Hutch to 19 shots, a team who put 50 on NEW ULM........

The overrated cards from Luverne put it on the tigers in a 7-1 final.

32/19 shots in favor of Luverne.

Luverne will see hutch on Saturday in gustavus, unless campion has something to say about it.....
And I see where Cowger -3A Scout's choice to destroy Luverne- put up 0 goals and 0 assists. Must have been the Hutch goalie's fault.

I think Hutch basically through in the towel last night after the second. Goaltender has been an issue all year apparently and still is. After the second it was 5-1 and maybe 2 were legit goals. Luverne will represent 3A well if they can make it. As long as they can stay away from the top 3. Hermantown and Breck are no easy task for anyone in the state. I do however think that Luverne's goalie potentially could give them a shot against a lot of 1A schools. Tough to judge a kid that has not scene a lot of shots all season but he seems to move around pretty good and plays his angles well.

Luverne is a Top 25 team in the state for 1A and Hutch obviously is not! Be fun too watch how long Luverne can stay unbeaten. It is no easy task this time year.

Yes was at the Game in Hutch last night....

Hutch NEEDS to get more consistent tending. The first goal on Nelson was a dump-in from mid ice. Key point in the game Hutch gets a 5 minute Power Play at the end of the first period and did nothing with it. Actually took a bad penalty of their own while on the five minute power play. Gave one up on the 4 on 4 and then gave up a shorty with about 20 seconds left. Change the whole game.

After that the game was not really in doubt as stated Hutch didn't even play in the third went through the motions.

Couple things to take away from the game.
For Hutch:
- Why not just go with the Senior in net he cant be that bad.
- Still had some great chances that Meyer made big saves on early in the game or this game would have had a much different outcome.
- Might want to put Adams and Cowger back together but splitting them up gives some depth to their lineup they lose the scoring punch when they were together.

For Luverne:
- Need Meyer to keep standing tall when they have their issues with dzone coverage.
- Not sure what all the hype on here earlier was about Luverne running it up only playing two lines. They played 3 lines all night had nice depth in their lineup seemed fresh at the end.

Overall good win for Luverne on the road they wrap up the Number One Seed. Luverne had more fans then Hutch which talks about how excited their hockey fan base is.

However, only games that really matter are playoffs. I watched Luverne Throttle Marshall 7-0 up in Marshall last year. We all know how they ended up when they met again in the playoffs. Things will be much different on Super Saturday at Gustavus!

Will be back tomorrow morning with the my seed projections. Good win for Luverne and it will be fun to see who makes the most changes and imrpoves before they met again in the playoffs!

3A Spaghetti Trout... can you please explain these perceived "D zone" issues you keep referencing? Because, IF Luverne ever does get their D figured out, they may be pretty dang tough because as of right NOW nobody in the state has let in less... and Mankato West is tied with them...

I know, I know... only playing Girl Scout Troop #13 Teams is the reason, I get it..

New Ulm with a significantly more convincing win over Litchfield today.

This is was a preview of the matchup we are all but guaranteed to see on thursday the 20th in New Ulm.

New Ulm should be the 3 seed, and Litch the 6 seed.

Looking like Willmar VS New Ulm, and Luverne VS Hutch on Saturday at gustavus!

Hutch 5 Mound Westonka 3

Hutch wins a big in Mound a team who hammered both Willmar and NU this season. Looks like the Senior Allen got the start and was very solid stopping 34 of 37 shots.

Beware of Hutch they are a dangerous team> If they get solid tending they can beat anyone in this section. Just need to put 3 games together.

Agreed with notTONIGHT..seriously Scout. Luverne beats Hutch 7-1 last night, Allen does NOT make a 6 goal difference in that game..I disagree majorly with you, with solid goaltending, Hutch would maybe, MAYBE be the third best team in this section

We will see in 2 weeks when Hutch and Luverne meet again. I think it will be a much different game. Mound is a good club to beat them on their ice today shows that Hutch is a solid team. Any of the top 4 have a great chance at winning this section.

The Hutch vs. Luverne & NU vs. Willmar rematch will be great fun at Gustavus!

Many wrote Hutch and Marshall off last year as well. Did we learn nothing from that??

Anything can happen in the playoffs. Hutch was in the Section Final last year. Luverne had a wonderful team last year that choked.

I dont think my statement is arrogant at all.

That statement leans more on the dumb side.

Luverne absolutely waylaid Hutch less than 24 hours ago.

Have a drink and rethink this thing buddy.....

Then why wasn't the senior in net lastnight when Luverne came to town? If hutch is a team to watch out for and were handled quite easy the way it sounds then maybe Luverne is under rated. Anything can happen in the playoffs, look at last year for example.

Oh, longtime reader first time poster. Cherry is popped.

notTonight Luverne also destroyed Marshall 7-0 before they chocked last year in the playoffs. I guess we will have to see if they can show up when it counts this year. History not on their side.

I would like to hear from someone at the hutch game. I know trout was at BMIA in Luverne.

A week ago Mound beat New Ulm 7-1, and today hutch hung almost fifty shots on them.

That is without a doubt a good win for hutch.

Anyone got an idea what happened?

If one team should be wary of basin things on regular season results its Luverne after the choke last year.

I just figured if any fans would know regular season and number 1 seed mean nothing it would be Luverne. But I guess they like setting themselves up for more heart ache again this year.
