MGHCA & STAR TRIBUNE ANNOUNCE PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT

Post by MNHockeyFan »

JUST ANNOUNCED:

Minnesota Girls Hockey Coaches Association and Star Tribune partner to share hockey news and statistics more effectively.

The Minnesota Girls Hockey Coaches Association and the Star Tribune announced today an enhanced partnership to work together on behalf of girls high school hockey in the state of Minnesota. The aim of the partnership is to share hockey news and streamline the distribution of game results and statistics.

The MGHCA and Star Tribune will collaborate to enhance the content on both the Girls High School Hockey Hub powered by Star Tribune (http://www.mngirlshockeyhub.com/) and the Minnesota Girls Hockey Coaches Association website (http://www.mghca.com/). The improvements will include:

 A coaches resource area on the Girls Hockey Hub for quick and easy entry of game results and statistics.
 The resource area will also include important news for coaches from the MGHCA.
 The MGHCA website will also display top news from the Hubs website and news from Star Tribune beat writers.

The Girls Hockey Hub will also become the primary entry point for game results and statistics for girls hockey coaches statewide. Coaches can now enter all of their game stats in one place, saving time and energy. The Girls Hockey Hub will then distribute the data to media outlets—broadcast, print and online—around the state and to the MGHCA website.

As part of the partnership, Star Tribune will provide software at no cost that schools can use for real-time scoring. Star Tribune will also host these webcasts to help coaches with any questions about managing statistics:

Monday, December 23rd, 7pm

Monday, December 30th, 7pm

On the MGHCA website, coaches can continue to customize the resources available to their teams, parents and local media with rich pages that provide deep information about their teams.

The MGHCA and Star Tribune are working on additional initiatives to make more girls hockey news and information available, more quickly, and to improve the visibility Minnesota girls hockey in the state and beyond.

Yes, quite timely considering the many spirited discussions on this forum regarding lack of accurate, consistent, and fresh statistics. Was someone listening to (and then acting upon) our pleas? Merry Christmas, indeed, everyone!
