Point of clarification: this is the list of 30 players invited to participate in the U18 Evaluation Camp. From this list, 22 will be selected to form the team that will play in the series against Canada from August 22-25 in Lake Placid.

Minnesota is totally under represented. They should be sending 5-6 more players to this camp. They try and balance with other regions of the country which is stupid and not getting the best 30 into the camp.

Step one, silence the critics. Its sad that you are so arrogant, that you can't look past the boarders. Other people outside of MN cringe at your arrogance and laugh at you conclusions. If I were you i would go back to blaming MN Made, hockey parents, short term coaches, junior programs, school redistricting, short schedules, poor tryout results,, blah, blah.

Just how good is the Assabet Valley 96 girls team...wow...6 players invited.

Decent but that is also part of my earlier point. Last year the MN Whitecaps took two U19 teams (both were actually U16 eligible) to the Labor Day NAHA Tourney. There was also a MN Icecats U19 team so MN talent was spread between 3 teams. Almost all of the players on both Whitecaps teams were 96s and all between their sophomore and junior year. A few were even younger between 9th and 10th grade. The two MN Whitecap teams had their talent divided equally between the two teams. Tossed together without playing any games or having any practices.

Whitecap Black team went 4-0 in their preliminary games and Whitecap White 3-1. Whitecaps Black wins quarters and semis and went to the championship against Assabet U19 and lost 1-0 in a nail biter, 0-0 for most of the game, which included a couple of pipe shots to tie after Assabet scored. Assabet won the Tier 1 national championships at U19 last season and some of the girls have played together for 8 years. The team also included several 95s, 94s and even some post graduate players. The top players on Assabet were very good but don't kid yourself there was drop off. The point is, 3 MN teams, no practices, no games, no work on specialty teams, linemates without any familiarity with one another, etc. and they end the tourney with a 6-1 record (goals for 21, against 4) and lose a squeaker in the championship 1-0 to a older team that played 60 games together with some girls that have played together for years.

In the fall Elite League the 3 Minnesota teams all beat Shattuck if I'm not mistaken. Some weren't close.

Believe me, Minnesota is getting shorted big time as USA Hockey tries to balance selections from across the country. This is a list of 30 outstanding players but the 30 best players in the country aren't on this list and should be.

What's the North American Hockey Academy?

North American Hockey Academy (NAHA) is a hockey high school, like Shattuck, based in Stowe, VT, hence the NAHA Labor Day Tourney is in Burlington, VT.

I am sure there are lots of good players throughput the country, but suggesting MN had nothing more to offer is clearly a comment from someone with an agenda. When the dust settles there will be a much higher percentage of MN girls playing D1 than most if not all states. I guess the D1 coaches are clueless.

Now thats pathetic! I have been involved in Girls hockey since 1995 and have devoted countless hours to developing players for nothing in return. My whole point is to be alittle humble about your players. Don't complain constantly about being overlooked or mistreated by the rest of the hockey world. To call someone a lier and making things up is childish and only serves your agenda. I have nothing to prove to you or anyone else. Maybe if you said good things about all hockey players, not just ones from Minnesota, others might be more fair. Atleast in your eyes. USA hockey is not perfect, but it is what we have. Spend you energy encouraging players and reminding them that life in gerneral is not fair, but never give up or blame others. My goal when I leave Minnesota, is to promote the positives of community based hockey and share the stories of the great success Minnesota has accomplished with girls hockey in such a short period of time. Your drive and dedication and passing that on to your daughters is what creates success and self pride.

Last I checked, since 2001..yes...13 straight years.....either Minnesota, MN Duluth, or Wisconsin has won the NCAA national championship. What do they have in common? Same conference? Check Rosters dominated by Minnesota players (including 14 from last years Gophers team which may be the best college team ever assembled)....uh yeah...check. Obviously there are talented players everywhere...but top to bottom, MN is the class...and to argue that is just ignorance pure and simple. Call us homers because of jealousy...that's fine. We know what's up.

You need to do your research! UM does recruit and take top MN players. UW and UMD hardly at all and look at their results - few are featured or given a opportunity to be.

UMD has really done well picking up top players from Canada or Europe. The UW has done well recruiting the U18 rosters for both US and Canada - that is their focus.
