I was playing that year. Pretty tiring for some of the players, though it still made for some gritty games. I would say though, I think the Wingers wouldn't mind another day of rest after the marathon tonighthockeydad wrote:A couple years ago the snow postponed a couple of Thursday games and moved them to Friday. It would be real tough for the 4/5 winner to have to play Friday night and then have to come to Rochester and face Lourdes at 2 p.m. Saturday in what amounts to a home game for the Eagles.

Not a lot of surprises last night. Congrats to the teams that will not be moving on for good seasons, have to give them credit for competing.
Albert Lea took care of business early against an undermanned LaCrescent team (7-1).
LHS/SP methodically took apart East (5-1).
Faribo used depth to run away from Waseca (8-2).
RW took care of Austin in OT, but give credit to RLG for his net play (3-2).
Thursday’s Projections
Lourdes over LSH/SP 8-1
Albert Lea over Northfield 4-3 ot
New Prague over Faribault 6-2
West over Red Wing 5-3
again….just my humble opinions

This looks about right, but I'm gonna give the nod to RW 3-2OTReady2GoYet wrote:While I don't like picking all the higher seeds, I just don't see any "upsets" in the making tomorrow.
Lourdes over LS/H/SP 6 - 0
West over Red Wing 5 - 3
New Prague over Faribault 6 - 2
Northfield over Albert Lea 3 - 2
Also, hat's off to Austin's goalie for tremendous effort last night.
I think it'll be pretty straight forward with these games today:
Lourdes over LSP: 6-1
New Prague over Faribault: 5-2
Northfield over Albert Lea: 4-2 EN
Mankato West over Red Wing: 5-2
West and Red Wing is obviously the most potential upset, I just don't see the Wingers defense holding up well against the Scarlet's offense. Red Wing hasn't fared too well against teams that are strong offensively. I think their lack of depth doesn't allow them to pair up lines extremely well. The only way I see Red Wing winning is if West does not show up.

I don't believe so. Unless Mankato is doing some stream I haven't heard anything about it. Action Jack will be doing a broadcast on www.1250kcue.com Pre-game at 6:40, puck drops at 7:00. Just hit "Click here to listen LIVE!" and you're good to gobestpopcorn wrote:West over Redwing 5-2 is a good bet.
Will the game be available online?

I'll go with -
Lourdes over Northfield: 6-2
West over New Prague: 4-2 EN
I don't see the Eagles having too much trouble with the Raiders. I think they pull away late. As for West, while their offense is clicking there aren't too many teams that can compete with them in a shoot-out. New Prague doesn't have the scoring punch it had in years past. Very tight "close to the vest" games from the Trojans. I will say though, the longer that game stays close the better I feel it plays to New Prague's advantage.
Best of luck to all teams.
