Soooooo :
As it were: Fergus Falls hosts Willmar in the quarters, who it tied and lost to.
Sartell hosts Alexandria in the quarters, who it tied and lost to.
Apollo HS and LF only played once, 4-2 LF.
Should be fun.

I guess they deserve# 3 :/... based on the season... but I doubt they get to the Mac.. I really kinda hoped they'd go lower, get smoked in rd 1(which they may still).. then maybe people would start understanding that something should change.
I have been dissatisfied with the last three years at least.. good luck to LF at state.

I wasnt able to go to the game and havent seen a score, got one?

No one expected Apollo to beat Little Falls 2 years ago, thats why they play the games, get hot at the right time or magically start winning, weirder has happened.

Fergus Falls 5
Apollo HS. 4. OT
from www.craigolsonsports.com
I would like to note that the the Otters just so happened to split goaltender duties tonight, by design according to the game story.... final game of regular season and that decision has not been made????
Of course I am not and never will be the head coach...but still..
a win is a win I guess

Yeah, for FF who is going to be goalie. Make a decision.

Maybe that is why Coach recognized for most career wins without any mention has held record for most career loses a long time ago....

Wilmar maybe should have been a 4 or 5, issue was their weak schedule and bad conference record.

After last night FF definitely proved sb #3 seed.

Alex Cards Shafted in last 2.5 mins of game against LF.

Apollo has made it to the Sec 6A title game against Little Falls.

Alexandria played one heckuva nice game against the Flyers only to have an official decide to start making riddiculous calls in the last 2.5 minutes of a 3-2 game at the time. Alex had been taking it to LF most of the game and was pressuring at the time of the first interference call. Fortunately Alex killed off this penalty only to get called moments later for a holding penalty on an EN attempt. Alex Defmn 11 made a tremendous effort to break up the play and got called for a hold.
This was a real edge of your seat game up until this point. I have a hard time understanding these calls being made at such a critical point in a great game.
The 1st call both players should have gone to the box if any go. The second should never have been called.
It definitely had a major effect on the potential outcome of this game.
I had no dog in the fight but truly felt Alex got shafted after a tremendous effort.
Good luck to the Flyers and Eagles!

Picking Apollo in an upset. Apollo will score, it is a matter if their D can limit LF opportunities.

If Apollo plays at the tempo I watched them play at early in the season and they have solid goaltending they have a great chance at winning.
D must limit the chances as the Flyers are very good at taking advantage of any mistake or opportunity to score.
The goaltending edge for sure goes to LF but #1 in net was leaving some rebound chances in the Alex game Sat. evening.
This should be a very good 6A final.

It wouldn't really be that much of an upset. It will probably be a fairly low scoring affair. LF rarely will give up more than 3 goals, but rarely score more than that against decent teams. Should be a close one. I think there could be an EN involved by whoever wins.

The LF vs Alex game was a very good game, I am not sure that your take is entirely without bias..... as far as Alex taking it to LF for most of the game the shots were 45-26 in favor of the Flyers, and LF led in quality scoring chances 21-11.

There was a penalty called about midway through the 3rd period on a scrum in front of the net where there probably should have been calls on both teams for roughing or unsportsmanlike conduct, but only one was assigned to LF, and Alex quickly scored on the power play to make it 3-2.

I'm not sure about the interference call with about 3 minutes left, but how could you not call the drag down on the empty net attempt??? The LF player was coming in alone on an empty net and was pulled down from behind.

As a hockey fan I hate to see penalties late in a game that take out a chance at tying things up, but it is just as unfair to not make the calls if there are penalties taking place, just so a team has a better chance.

Thursday will be interesting.... Apollo has a top line that can fly and bury the puck. LF has been able to hold teams to 3 or fewer in all but one game this year, but is lacking the offensive firepower to outscore teams in a shootout. This is probably a game where a two goal lead is insurmountable, and whoever gets off to a faster start will have a huge advantage.
