Re: Me too
I would suggest one of the suburbs that year in and year out have great academics and good hockey. Edina, Minnetonka, Jefferson, Wayzata, Hopkins, Apple Valley, Eden Prairie, Chaska, Eastview. These are only public schools though.

Though the price of housing will be higher in these towns than say, up North somewhere.

Re: Me too
And of course Bemidji's academics are in the top 5 year in and year out.

Great shopping, great restaurants, excellent youth baseball program.

Good Stuff
Fun to watch people pitch their schools to a "13 year old" from Denver.

Elk River AA State Champions- 2001 Boys & 2004 Girls

Elk River, Sarsland will take anyone as long as they give him a pack of gum.
2A

Anywhere will do
I agree with bluesbuddy, so long as you dont have to drive through Elk River.

Man....the traffic is bad.

Re: Anywhere will do
I thought he was looking for a place in Minnesota, not Minniowata. Well, then Brainerd is not so bad.

Anywhere will do
If the kid is any good I am sure the Marvin's will come pick you up in the corporate jet, get dad a job doing nothing at the plant and buy you a doublewide right next to Renegade's trailer!

Wish it was a trailer after going around it six times on a scaffold painting and staining this fall. Besides the lots we're selling we don't allow manufactured homes.

Runnin' wit da big dawgs
Hey Denver, I think you should send you kid to "Minnesota Hockey Camps" for the summer and see if he can run with the big dogs. He'd be in the heart of Minnesota and there are top notch HS/College & Junior Hockey Coaches who work there. Then you'ld have a better idea what type of program he'd fit in with.

Da Krankster

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... >kranky at: 1/4/06 8:29 am

Moving to Minnesota
If you are planning to move to Minnesota for hockey I believe that Moorhead might be the spot to move too. Moorehead is on the western border next to Fargo, North Dakota. Fargo is fast becoming a big city with jobs. Moorhead has a great youth program, and a steller high school program.

Some other schools that might be good to move to would be Bl. Jefferson, Duluth East, White Bear Lake, Hastings, Elk River, and Lakeville North.

Moving to Minnesota
Hey RinkRat,

I agree with most of what you said except for the last school. How do you just add Lakeville North to a list of hockey powers. Yes they have an OK team this year, but if his son is a Pee Wee he will never have a chance of going to state while he is at Lakeville North. Lakeville North has a chance to be in the seller of the Lake Conference for the next 6 years. Great academics, but not a hockey power. If he is a Pee Wee and is going to move to Lakeville which is one of the fastest growing communities in the Metro with top notch academics he should move to the south side of the city. It is going to be 3 to 4 years before they are very competitive, but the first year bantams and every younger age group has a ton of talent, if the new head coach can keep them from going to private schools than they should have a chance of going to state both his junior and senior seasons. Both Lakeville schools will be very good in the future, but Lakeville South will be like Centennial in the next 3 to 4 years.
