Good story. I'm always interested to hear how many second year players and how many first year players on these top teams.

Bantam AA

District 6 AA Bantam season opener tomorrow night as Ep travels to Victoria to take on Chanhassen/Chaska.

Chan has looked good in their pre-season scrimmages. it will be interesting to see how they play against a perennial state power.

Check it out freddy61...

What does everyone think when a team cancels a district game on Thursday because they have too many injuries, I heard 2 skaters and 1 of their two goalies, but then goes ahead and plays two non district games on Saturday and Sunday two days later? They have 15 rostered skaters and 2 goalies. Fair, not fair, thoughts?

I would think the District game has more meaning then a non district game. shouldn't really matter to anyone why game was changed, as long as they did it all within the rules. really a mute point, unless the team they were scheduled to play in districts was looking for an advantage.

I agree, no big deal. the district gives teams the ability to do that so they took advantage of it.

Just posted a Bantam A D6 game story from last night. I learned a few things watching the game. It was a good game, but gave me a different take on what is happening in D6 at the Bantam A level.

The game can be read at:

What was the reasoning behind the shortage bench for Edina and Bville?

I think it was a manpower issue (injury, illness, etc) not discipline or win at all cost issues.

Edina (and Burnsville) had 5 games this past weekend, that will take it's toll on the body.

D8 is running separate tournaments for Bantam A and Bantam AA. The Bantam A tournament will be a simple 4 team bracket with 1st, 2nd and 3rd advancing to the East Region.
