How are the MIN/WIS teams doing? I haven't heard or noticed any of their teams this season.

What ever happened to the 99 MIS/WIS All-Star team? I know there was high hopes for this team.

Like I said, I can only speak for the Moose teams and the Moose do not field a 99 team.

Are you worried that the Miracle Gold might siphon off your top talent?

I guess I don't really understand the question. Our tryout times are different on purpose we know we have kids trying out for both teams, if that's what you meant.

Just wondering if your top guys will be jumping ship to go to the Miracle Gold. Will Jr Moose kids be able to try out for the brick? I've heard some programs frown on that.

I'm pretty confident in our program and am not worried about us losing players to other programs. In fact I foresee the exact opposite happening. If you have specific questions about our program or tryout feel free to ask. If you would like to ask hypothetical trouble starting questions please at least leave your real name so I can call you and talk about it directly with you. Here's mine

Sorry Justin - just playing. Will you guys make the jump and play in any of the local invite tourneys next summer? Looks like you do pretty well in the open levels.

If you are referring to the Moose Jaw Warriors in the mite showcase league, we have no affiliation with that team.

Updated Times and Information:

We are expecting a great turnout this weekend. Come check it out. We do things a bit different...Note each age group is 2 hours.

Minnesota Jr. Moose AAA Hockey is for young hockey players who excel in their age group and want to pursue off-season training (on & off-ice) and competition in premier AAA hockey tournaments with other top players from their age group.

Benefits:

Lower cost than comparable AAA programs.
Players will be eligible for our invitation-only MIN/WIS AAA Elite team which will compete in select tournaments.
New to the program in 2013 will be off-ice dryland training (plyometric exercise, stickhandling, and shooting), specialized power skating instruction, and specialized goaltender coaching/training.
Tournament Team and Practice Team spots available.

Program Goals:

* See that each player understands, targets, and pushes themselves to improve in each of the individual fundamental skills and team skills appropriate for the age level.
* Continually and positively reinforce good habits, correct bad habits, and encourage constant improvement. Hard work and maximum effort will equal success.
* Encourage competition and aggressive, hard-nosed play – teach kids to WANT THE PUCK!!!
* Keep it fun. Players should enjoy coming to practice and have fun playing hockey. We want to provide a positive environment for continual development with good relationships between players and coaches.
* See that we practice good sportsmanship at all times and are respectful of coaches, teammates, opponents, and officials at all times.

All players who wish to try out will need to register online. Tryout fee is $20. Tryout will consist of a series of timed skating/puckhandling exercises followed by 3v3, 4v4, and/or 5v5 scrimmage.

FLPucknut-
Do you know who they are bringing in to do the power skating instruction you mentioned?

I can say this, we have a very good idea who it will be but since nothing has been finalized it would be improper to give names just yet. I wish I had a better answer but I certainly want to be up front. The last thing I would want is someone to sign up for something and not get what they were expecting.

They went great...there are going to be some very hard decisions to make. We had 30 skaters for the 03's with a few kids that couldn't make it...the 02's had 40+ kids show up. Fun night on the ice. It was great to meet so many talented, coachable kids.

Are you thinking multiple teams at those levels?

How did JDog look? :D

Honestly I don't have an answer to that...I guess it would all come down to what kind of player/qualified coaching commitments we could get for multiple teams. As for Jdog, I can't say that I knew he was there. I didn't mingle much, ran my drill then watched the scrimmage. I'm very happy with the new kids that showed up, lots of good hockey players. If he did indeed come I hope he had a good experience.
