Elite League Begins - Scrimmages on Sunday

Post by Wallyworld »

Good to have the Elite league up and rolling. I caught the SE/NW scrimmage Sunday and I was somewhat surprised that the NW looked a little better. Also surprised by how low scoring it was with no goals after 30 minutes. Besse looked good for the NW though since most kids don't have names sewn on jerseys yet, I wasn't sure who his line mates were.. SE, to no surprise started Steve Spinner (EP) and Willie Brown (HM), centered by Tyler Sheehy (BV). Both defenses looked better than the offenses which, from my experience, is the opposite of the U16, U17 camps where there are usually high scoring games.... I'm just glad the season is here.....

No doubt, good to see this group of talented boys on the ice again. All of the rosters look strong but in looking at the NW roster I was not surprised to hear that they outplayed SE. Are any teams going to emerge and run away with the league? How will the Colorado and Great Plains team hold up?

Thanks Wally for the update...I was trying to get out there to catch some hockey but got tied up...I will try and catch some games next weekend...sounds like SE will have a tough time defending title...

The U18 Blades also tied the Chicago Fury who were ranked 8th last year out of 113 tier 1 Teams in the country.

I too was skeptical of the new Uniforms. They will take some getting use to but what I do like is the material they are made of. Light weight, airy so I think players will not get so hot as compared to traditional socks and jersey's.
Like I said they will take some getting use to.
