Select 15 Game Recap: The Rem Pitlick Show
Freddie took in some good hockey last night, metro power districts 3 and 6 faced off at the Select 15 tournament. Shattuck/Wayzata super star Rem Pitlick dazzled. Fred catches a great between the legs goal photo series - go here to read the story and see the pics.
Enjoy,

Correction: Newhouse has never been a forward.YouthHockeyHub wrote:Freddie took in some good hockey last night, metro power districts 3 and 6 faced off at the Select 15 tournament. D3 did not list the players by number on the site. At the game, some people had a little yellow card with D3's names and numbers on the card. When asked who #26 was, they replied Rem Pitlick. When D3's roster comes out with names and numbers correction will be made. One thing remains true, whoever #26 is, he had a great game.scorekeeper wrote:Rem played a beautiful game, but the between the legs goal you are refering to in your article was scored by Alec Baer.
Baer had 2 goals in the game. Pitlick had one. The other was scored by a Wayzata player, (yellow helmet), but I didn't catch the number

What I find interesting about the Select 15 process is that there is very little information available in some districts. D2, D4, D5, D8, D9, D15 and D16 are up front and easy to understand what is happening. D3 and D6 run the initial phases like a tryout in an arena with the glass doors taped with plastic so people can’t see in. D10, D11, and D12 make no mention of the Select 15’s.
What bothers me about the process is that kids that participate in the Select 15’s have achieved something, yet the process does not trumpet that achievement, but for whatever reason, actually makes it difficult for people to find out who is participating. It does not make sense. It is sort of like going to a high school graduation and hearing the principal call out numbers instead of names as the senior class crosses the stage.

I have one question. How many websites has Fredrick61 written for? Let's Play Hockey, Minnesota Hockey Report, Youth Hockey Hub, His own forum blog. This is my first post on this forum. I have a son involved in the 15's. I've read most of Fredrick61 stuff over the years and I would say most of what he writes is non-factual and mostly his misguided opinion. I have read the opinion that he watches more games than anyone but I would say who cares. If its not accurate it means nothing. To post a story on a single player and than find out it wasn't really that player that's not good journalism. This is youth hockey let them be kids.

It was indeed Alec Baer (#26). He had a moster of a game. However, you article is not neccessarily mis-titled, as Rem Pitlick (#25) also had a brilliant game. Just my opinion, but I thought the two of them were the best 2 forwards on the ice that day.frederick61 wrote:D3 did not list the players by number on the site. It is sad to see Frederick61 making this kind of mistakes, and just one more articles of his does not match title with the content. Maybe it is the way how Frederick and co want to generate interest and traffic. But surely make a good joke though.
Frederick61, go back to your old style of writing about hockey games, not singling out one or 50 players as a star or "top". And it does not matter for a 15 years old or 12 years old! Well, specially you are capable of making errors like this one.

I did look around for a few others as well and came up with basically NADA...For such a "High Profile" program, it sure seems to fly under the radar for some..frederick61 wrote:What I find interesting about the Select 15 process is that there is very little information available in some districts.
