Sorry, but you are missing 1 major player here! In my eyes, you are missing one of the top 5 players in the state this past year. Anyone care to help me out on this one?

Hard to beleive Matthew Freytag isn't on there...didn't he have both goals in first round of State as well against EP?

All State means all State!

This Minnesota (south and west metro) report has clearly left out some big time players at the bantam level!

Lets hear the best 6 kids

1G, 2 D, 3 F Lets compile districts frist (all district) then once we have that lets do all state!

Argue it all you want - it's as meaningless as a State Squirt B tournament.

2012 Minnesota Hockey Report All-State Bantam A Team

#19 Lukas Gillett – Rosemount
#8 Tommy Hutsell – Eastview
#8 Tommy Giller – White Bear Lake
#9 Sasha Choporov – Woodbury
#12 Zack Sitarz – Andover
#3 Nick Swaney – Lakeville South
#15 Jonah Bischoff – Grand Rapids
#9 Christiano Versich – Sibley
#9 C.J. Bisanz – Wayzata
#10 A.J. Welch – White Bear Lake
#12 Tye Ausmus – East Grand Forks
#3 Will Borgen – Moorhead
#11 Kyle Lewis – Wayzata
#2 Will Reedy – Prior Lake-Savage
#22 Mark Kaske – Edina
#23 Kieffer Bellows – Edina
#15 Eric Holmstrom – Farmington
#30 Kobi Boe, Goaltender – Edina
#30 Zach Driscoll, Goaltender – Eastview
#39 Maddie Rooney, Goaltender – Andover

#7 Matt Masterman of Edina, #19 Lukas Gillett of Rosemount and
#12 Tye Ausmus of East Grand Forks were arguably the 3 most explosive skaters I saw this past season.

#8 Tommy Giller – White Bear Lake; #12 Zack Sitarz – Andover;
and Matthew Freytag - Wayzata are all "game changer" types of players too.

I also thought Robbel - Jefferson was one of the best D in the State.

Didn't see Eastview, Woodbury, GR, Farmington or Moorhead play, so can't comment on these players...and barely saw LVS, PL and Sibley...so can't comment on them either.

Regarding 1st year Bantam's, was impressed with the hockey play-making ability, hockey IQ and shot of #23 Kieffer Bellows – Edina (in the State title game vs. EGF)...and the explosive skating of Joey Anderson - Roseville (during a tourney in February).

missed a few...maybe alot

If you leave out Boesser from Burnsville, Freytag and Ahrens from Wayzata, Franta and Brumm from Maple Grove, Hammer from Woodbury (just to name a few) you are not paying very close attention to reality.

In fact, if you name Bellows over Masterman from Edina you need to start writing more about Basketball or Chess.

Bantam A-All state team

I agree with alot of the players on this list. Would definitely add a few.
Boeser and Achan from Burnsville are very talented together and Boeser alone too is amazing. Masterman(Edina), Sullivan(EP), Freytag(Wayzata), Gabriel(OMG), Brumm(OMG), and Franta should be included.
I would also add Spindler(Wayzata) and Menell(Sibley) for solid defenseman. Neither are flashy or huge but are solid, shoot well, and get the job done.

I think every list has players who could be on that are not. I think every player on this list belongs there.

also missing Versich (#9 Sibley) hard working forward with speed and smarts

Top Bantam A's

Post by hockey59 »

Based on my observations...if I had to put one line together...it would be:

LW - #12 Zack Sitarz – Andover (strength on skates, passing ability, finishing ability, hockey sense and shot)

C - #7 Matt Masterman of Edina (explosive speed and finishing ability)

RW - #19 Lukas Gillett of Rosemount (explosive speed and shot)

D - #12 Tye Ausmus of East Grand Forks (explosive speed and hockey sense)

D - Robbel of Jefferson (rock solid, error free play, nice lateral movement, passing ability and puck control)

I never saw Boesser from Burnsville...sounds like he is a special player too.

IMO the next grouping includes probably 20-30 players...who are all top level players.
