Just spoke with a meteorologist friend of mine and he has said the storm is not as bad as anticipated. Yay! :D

However, we are still under a winter storm warning until midday Wednesday.

I am not sure about your neck-of-the-woods; however, the Metro area will see 1" to 3" of snow Tuesday with some rain showers overnight. And Wednesday, we will see 1" to 2" of snow.

They upgraded us to a Winter Storm Warning about a half hour ago. Expecting 9-13" (if you listen to NOAA) or 10-15" (if you listen to the Weather Channel)

I don't care what the forecast is so long as Maria Larosa is forecasting it. :)

Add that they may need to upgrade this to a Blizzard Warning for the Twin Ports. Hope they get the snow plowed before the 7A final on Wednesday night!

That means the bulk of the cell is shifting more North. Still, who the heck knows.

Maria Larosa could diagnose me with terminal cancer and I'd still be happy.

I'm amusing myself with the News Tribune's live blog of the storm today. :)

I haven't seen any substantial amounts of snow yet this year, so I'm excited to play around in the white stuff this weekend.

LOL...I have been following the blog, also. Our windows are snowblown pretty much opaque by now so no indication what's going on outside other than the gusts of wind which keep rattling the windows.

Wish I could be there for this. (I think blizzards are the sort of thing that grow on people when all they get are endless days of 40 degrees and rain.) It brings back some good memories.

Is it wrong of me to hope this continues through into tomorrow and forces the 7AA game to be postponed to Saturday as well? Then I could make it in person...

Why am I seeing SF Giants advertising at the bottom of my screen?

Considering my residency, I believe the advertisers are a bit off of their target market.

You're only about 60 pages off there...

So, how are we all occupying our time now that the high school season is over? WCHA playoffs? That other tournament in that other sport?

WCHA Playoffs
NCAA Playoffs (Hockey)
March Madness Brackets/Games (College Basketball)
Your Hoyas
And maybe even the upcoming MLB season. (including your Yanks  )

Hey, the Hoyas finally won an NCAA tournament game! It had been a while.

Pity about the Bulldogs, but the real pressure begins next week.

Yeah, the NCAAs is what its all about.

A WCHA Playoff championship is pretty much just bragging rights.

Great game, if you're a Sioux fan. :P

At least the Rodents made the NCAA tournament this year.

Looks like we may get another Gophers-Sioux match-up in the not so distant future.

In other news, the Hoyas continue their time-honored tradition of losing to double-digit seeds in the NCAA tourney. Of course, being used to it by now, I did pick this one in my bracket... :?

As to the penalties handed out to the Saints today; is it enough or too much?

I know based on UND's history that they play great in the 2nd half of the year; however, I wouldn't be surprised to see UND lay an egg and see BU or the Rodents in Tampa.

Their big come from behind win against MN was astonishing. Coming back to win 6-3 after falling to a 3-0 deficit against their rivals was sweet, and they won the next night to take the WCHA playoff title for the 3rd straight year (1st time in WCHA history). But the thing is this years Sioux team is still a little shaky on the defensive side (slow) in my opinion. Dell will have to stand on his head for here on out.

As for Karl's Hoyas, o well. At least you saw Duke get knocked off by a 15 seed. In all honesty, I thought you only cheered for winning teams, Karl. (Exhibit A: Yankees & Exhibit B: Packers)

Speaking of March Madness and brackets. I saw that Obama is in the 98th percentile for his bracket. Thank goodness he takes the time to research his picks and to go on ESPN to announce them.

Enough.

The Saints play like a bunch of goons; I suppose this bounty system that they had in place sheds some light. And Saints fans, well, I find them to be annoying. Who dat? What's that crap all about? Who ever says that sounds like a moron. Pardon me for going off on a tangent there...

As for the punishment...

Head Coach Sean Payton- Suspended without pay for the 2012 season.
-He should have NOT lied about it when the Saints organization was investigated in 2010, and he should have put a stop to it and reported it to the NFL commissioner (Kinda like Joe Pa, but not as bad considering the circumstances). BTW: He was investigated for stealing prescription drugs a few years back, but mysteriously the investigation was dropped. (cover-up was suspected)

Defensive Coach for STL Gregg Williams (was with NO at the time) - Suspended indefinitely.
-During this investigation, the NFL found out that he made a similar bounty system while he was head coach of the Bills. Bye

The Saints also lost their 2nd round draft pick for 2012 and 2013, AND fined $500,000.

Oh and one more. Another coach of the Saints was also suspended for 6 games next season. Not sure if there will be any more punishments...?

Bottom line is: Don't make a bounty system in the NFL and don't lie to Roger Goodell.
