Yes, let me see a link for an AAA team that charges $500 for maybe 13 hours of ice (I assume the reason you underlined "maybe" is because it is a max of 13 hours, correct?) and 2 tournaments.
The "maybe" was underlined because it depends on the program but yes the 13 hours of practice ice (plus tourney) is the "max" here are two links, I can provide more. And FYI, I am not bashing either of the programs in these links, in fact I have great respect and like for both and they are the best programs in this area, I am just proving the costs and hous invloved for spring hockey in this area:

The first link (Jr Jets) shows a cost of $450 for 2 tournaments and over 13 hours of practice ice. Figure $100 for each tourney and you're paying $250 for a minimum of 13 hours of practice ice which comes to about $19 per hour. This is a fair price IMO.
The second link (Madison Capitols) is $460 for 2 tournaments and 6-8 hours of "intense" practice. Again, factor in $100 for each tournament and your practice ice is between $32 and $43 per hour. This is a very steep price IMO.
The only thing I can gather from the website is that this team carries a certain level of prestige in that area that folks are willing to pay for. Wisconsin in a different market however. There are fewer options for "AAA" hockey so the ones that do exist are able to charge more.
The comment was made that people are paying "north of $1500 for south of 50 hours of ice" and I still don't buy that that is happening.

I never said the prices were not fair. But just to be clear, the MOST practice ice sheets the Jets have ever had is 13, their site may "over" but I can tell you for a fact that it's never been "over" to date and in some cases it's been 10 to 11. I am not complaining just clarifying. And again to clarify, my replies all come from the point I made that if the 50 hours of ice was IN ADDITION to the tournaments those teams play in then $1,500 sounded like a really fair deal to me and even possibly pretty cheap. Yes we have a different deal down here in WI to be sure but I don't think that takes away from the point I was making.
