So is this the year that the north finally gets some credit...YHH didn't have a northern SQA team in the top 10 all year...it looks like they represented themselves pretty well.

Black: next year the world will be flat in all skill levels...we will have a database that teams can enter their scores. Our current system is manual - which means we can only document what is live via the internet or what gets reported to us. We had several teams sending us their scores all year via email.

I loved it when Roseau and Warroad beat the suburban teams Friday...YHH loves the northern teams. We ultimately want to have the best rankings with the best teams, no matter the zip code or district.

YHH - i didn't mean to poke at your rankings, i enjoy reading your guys stuff and I think it is cool the youth hockey scene gets some xtra looks.

Even with the best info possible info I'm still not sure you could accurately rank squirt teams...just so much can happen. After Fargo you could maybe add some North teams to top ten, but then who would leave, there is just not enough body of work at the squirt level to be accurate. But since rankings are simply a discussion point it is always interesting.

As a Northern guy it is just kind of odd how metro teams are "shocked" when the metro teams get beat by a Warroad or Roseau or Brainerd. I don't think Warroad, Roseau or Brainerd were "shocked" to win those games.

Maybe its still just the numbers thing...maybe the fact that if Warroad & Roseau were to combine their Squirt programs they would still have less than 60 total players to chose from to make an "A" team is why metro teams are so surprised.

You just summed up Squirt Hockey in MN in less than 250 words....nice work Black.

I think next year, with our DB, it will be way more fair and predictable than this year. The data will be right in front of your eyes...right now, it's all over the place.

I love your quote, "I don't think Warroad, Roseau or Brainerd were 'shocked' to win those games."
