FYI, Josh Cisar has a chance to tie Joey Benik's regular season mark of 63 goals if he can score four against Two Harbors tonight. He scored two goals in their last meeting.

Only a hattrick for Josh. 62 regular season goals though, not too shabby!

So it looks as though Josh is in his final season at Moosey... But Tyler will be back next year to rack up the points. We'll see if he can best his older brother.

I've never understood what players in this situation are expected to do? Does anyone expect them to put up the numbers if they played a Duluth East or Wayzata Schedule? Of course not. The kids have nothing to do with the schedule. They're doing what they should be doing to get noticed, putting up an assload of points playing a schedule that, apparently, has them pitted against players who are not as talented as they are. You cant fault them for this.

We'll find out soon enough if these boys can produce against a higher end team. If they beat Mora in sections they advance to face Hermantown.

ok that isn't a fair statement to make to represent the cisars, first off i have seen both of these players play on multiple ocassions in the past two years, yeah their schedule is weak and the rest of the team struggles mightly at times, BUT you can't compare them in this game for multiple reasons
1. their goaltending is AWFUL, this single factor probably cost them half of their games that they lost this year
2. seriously lets compare two good players to a team that is ranked number one and will probably play their third and fourth line most of the game
3. reread number 1 and look at the goalies stats

both of these boys can play and i feel could easily compete at the next level and could probably make a d3 team line up possibly a D1 if they excel in juniors

So if they are capable of playing D3 or even D1 with experience in Juniors, they certainly should be able to compete with Hermantown's #1 forward line by your statements. (I just don't see that happening, until I see it) Why would they be playing up against Hermantown's 3rd or 4th line if they were good enough to play at the next level? ...I think that would mean that they are already down by a whole lot of goals? Where would those come from because I don't think Hermantown would start the 3rd or 4th line if the Cisar's are as good as their point production or capable of playing at that next level.

that's a good question with a very simple answer, their goalie can't stop a beach ball and they will have to come off the ice at some point of the game... and there really isn't much talent that has developed behind these guys this season, also if you really thought that i meant bruce would start only his third and fourth line for this game then you must have missed the subtle sarcasm

I watched them play last year against two harbors and the Cisar salad had all the goals which I think was 8. Now in saying that both teams looked like they went through the halls of their respective high school's and threw jersies at students and told them they were going to play hockey. Now the Cisar's look like they have played pond hockey so they looked ok. I will not dispute they know how to tickle the twine, however in my estimation if they are going to be determined good you should be able to beat the lowsy competition they play.
How can theybe that good and not just take the puck away from their competition, I mean seriously what a joke. No matter what your role on a team is if you are good you can play some defense and I believe one of the Cisar's is a defenseman or was last year. Congrats to them putting up gawdy numbers against house league teams, heck any kid would have fun putting up those kind of numbers.
Even against top competition they should be able to put at least one puck away no matter how awful the rest of their team is. I would be willing to bet that you could take the top 10 teams in the state play them and the Cisar's combined would not equal 10 points in those games. Good luck 9th seeded (5A)Cisars.
There are 155 teams in the state the Cisars lost to the 151st ranked team 5-1 if you are that good how do you get shut down by the 151st ranked team?

Wow, a lot of venom is being spouted at these boys. You would think that they transferred from the Lake Conference so they could sandbag.

I'm sure they're looking forward to the challenges coming up in sections. With over 70% of their team's goals, they will be the focus of opposing gameplans. Good luck to them and the Moose Lake team.

Good for the boys racking up points. Don't know of or heard of these players at all. Have they played in Elite leagues? Hard for me to jump on there band wagon til they actually play in a competitive conference. Moose Lake vs. Maple Grove, Elk River, Centennial how would they fair? It takes more than 2 players to play with these teams, unless they are actually that talented

They lost 5-1 to Pine/Rush city.. No more needs to be said..

BUT I think if they make it past Mora, they will be playing Hermantown in the section 1/4 finals, and Im sure it wont be pretty

DuluthMMA, How did your original post bring you to how the entire team would fare against elite AA teams?
They are a legitimate A team. There isn't any tryouts. They take who ever shows up.They have one sophmore goalie, five seniors, six juniors, four freshman and an 8th grader playing right now. They all play a lot. In the past they went with 2 lines and 4 defensemen. This year they played 3 lines and 6 defenseman mostly. They have ZERO bantams coming up next year.
This is the biggest reason they went from 18 wins last year to 11 this year.Still can't understand why you have such hatred for the Cisars and Moose Lake. My guess would be you played against them in the past in peewees and bantam b's and now that you didn't make it at East your mad they are still playing.Get over it! I'm sure you were quite a player.
FYI There has been a few USHL scouts and a couple NHL scouts in the stands in Moose Lake. Any guesses as to who they were watching?
