Chaska/Channhassen Varsity Program
Who is the new coach? Why the change? How are they going to do this year?
Re: Chaska/Channhassen Varsity Program
Tracy Cassano is the new coach! It was time for a change! Chris the old coach went back to Mound West Tonka!mnhockeywatch wrote:Who is the new coach? Why the change? How are they going to do this year?

Why was it time to change it looked like they had a good record?
Respectfully what's the rest of the story.
Doesn't that guy have a training facility in Chaska?
Cassano -Came from Rosemount. this was from the Rosemount patch!
Coach Cassano, how long have you been playing hockey?
Cassano: I started playing when I was 5 years old with the boys. I played through Bantams and then I played for the Minnesota Thoroughbreds in high school while attending Willmar high school, so I traveled the 100 miles every weekend. I played at the U of M in college.
Rosemount Patch: That's a lot of driving. It must be due to love of the game! What position did you play?
Cassano: Forward.

first of all there is no reason chaska and chanhassen should be combined. they won a lot of conference games last year against teams who have schools a third the size of theres combined. if they don't have enough good players, sucks to be them. if they can be combined, you mies well combine northfield and red wing and that'd be about the same numbers, then red wing and northfield would almost win the conference too.

This article states that the Missota is forcing Chaska/Chanhassen out of the conference, so the AA Coop will play an independent schedule next year.

I don't disagree that Chan/Chaska should be split like the boys team!MNHockeyFan wrote:This article states that the Missota is forcing Chaska/Chanhassen out of the conference, so the AA Coop will play an independent schedule next year.

there is no reason that a jv coop and separate varsity programs couldn't be used. like Lakeville did when they went to two schools. But Haley is just worried he will never win a title with the Stormhawks in the mix they have only been in missota for what 2 years? Now if CH/CH told the Missota conf. that they would spit in a certain amount of time and they are not following thru with it then maybe the MSHSL should have banned them from any HS play instead of letting them go independent . Does anyone know if there was a timeframe?
