WBL/Stillwater

WB needs this one to keep the conf lead, but I think the win goes to Stillwater.

WBL is 1 1/2 games up on Stillwater in the SEC, so even a loss doesn't take them out of the lead. It does however put a little discussion into the 4AA seedings.

How do you get 1/2 point?

4 pm game - starts in about 5 minutes. 3 teams are still in contention for the conference title.

1. WBL 10-3-1, 4 games left - Stillwater, FL, MV & Hastings
2. Stillwater 9-4-2, 3 left - WBL, Hastings & FL
3. Roseville 9-5-1, 3 left - East Ridge, Woodbury & Cretin-DH

Big game this afternoon. Stillwater (5-2 since 1/12/12) is playing better than WBL (3-4) since they last met on Jan. 12th. If Stillwater wins today, then Roseville would probably have the best chance to win it. They have 3 easier games left.

When was the last time Stillwater won a conference title?

Stillwater just can't score...Cates is a great goaltender, but they need to get some firepower up front somehow. Section 4AA is more wide-open than it's been in years.

Cates did not look like a great goaltender tonight. Letting up 6 goals to a team that has been struggling to score this year.

I didn't say anything about points. I said Games. Stillwater had one more loss and one more tie than WBL entering this game. WBL had 1 more win than Stillwater. That's how I came up with 1 1/2 games. Doesn't matter now, I think the conference champs have been crowned, unless the Bears don't show up for the rest of their games.

I wouldn't crown anybody yet, WBL has lost to 2 of the 3 teams they have left to play, and FL could give them trouble.

This is one of the best WBL has played all year, there appeared to be some line changes. Although, I couldn't figure out exactly who or what. The team played like they wanted to win, they have a good chance of winning the conference if they maintain this level of intensity.

Still to much relying on the 1st line. Although highly productive they are completely gassed the 3rd period. Against really good teams, this is where they will loose ground. They need top production out of there top line in the third.

I believe they have to rotate 1,2,3 even 4 for at least 1.5 periods this will maintain productivity in the 3rd from the 1st.

Great game by WB goalie, not a ton of shots, but quite a few of them were scoring opportunities.
