Section 3A 2011-12

Bracket:
http://mshsl.org/mshsl/showxmlbrackets. ... acket=5339

#1 New Ulm H.S.
#2 Luverne H.S.
#3 Marshall H.S.
#4 Fairmont H.S.
#5 Worthington H.S.
#6 Windom Area H.S.

KRACH said the same for #1 and doesn't differentiate between the other five due to only three decimal places in its ranking value. Head-to-head/Common Opponents considerations (#1 & #2 in seeding criteria) probably made a difference here:
http://www.bgoski.com/KRACH_SEC_20120204.htm

104 New Ulm 11-12-0 0.332 A 3
114 Fairmont 7-11-0 0.001 A 3
116 Luverne 9-5-1 0.001 A 3
117 Marshall 9-10-1 0.001 A 3
119 Windom Area 0-17-0 0.001 A 3
120 Worthington/Fulda/Spirit Lake 4-11-1 0.001 A 3

Looking at the KRACH rankings - 5 of the 6 teams are at .001 - this section is a good argument for modifying MSHSL's current geographical-based system.

Possibly - and/or it's a good argument for adding a 4th decimal place to KRACH ratings.
