Interesting take on the section, but I think the middle could be argued in a different direction. Top three right now I think should be a given with Little Falls, Fergus, and Alex(only team to beat LF in section) then it gets a bit dicey:

Apollo: Beat B/W, Alex, M/B, PC, and Lost to LF, FFx2, Willmar, and Sartell

Willmar: Beat M/B, Apollo, Wadena, PC, and Lost to B/W, Alex x2, LF, FF, and split with Sartell

Prairie Center: Beat Wadena and Morris/Benson x2, Lost to Alex, LF, Apollo and Willmar

B/W: Beat Willmar and Wadena, Lost to Apollo and Morris/Benson(which hurts)

Sartell: Beat Apollo, and Lost to Alex, LF, FF x2, and split with Willmar

I would think Sartell and Apollo would have strong cases for the 4 and 5 seeds with Sartell getting the head to head matchup but another coming in a couple weeks. I honestly don't think Willmar, PC, or MB can be considered ahead of those 2 teams due to strength of schedule. PC and BW lost to Apollo (who Sartell beat) so they should be lower going on scores alone. The only one that has a case on either Apollo or Sartell would be Willmar but that loss to BW doesn't look that great either.

My seedings as of this week would be:

1-Little Falls
2-Fergus Falls
3-Alexandria
4-Apollo
5-Sartell
6-Willmar
7-Breckenridge/Wahpeton
8-Prairie Center
9-Morris-Benson
10-Wadena

I don't think Little Falls has anything left to prove, they get the top seed.
In my opinion the top seed is the real prize this year.
Second goes to Fergus Falls if they win out the rest of their section games.
Third will be Alexandria. Not sure what if anything changes if Alex beats Fergus. I don't think number 2 or 3 is a real big deal. both will likely have similar first round games, and would have a lot tougher game in the semi's if they both make it. The prize for being the top seed will be a relatively easy first round game, and a semi final game against a much weaker opponent than the 2 and 3 seed.
Don't think I would really want to play Breckenridge/Wahpeton, they appear to have the ability to make some surprises.

Of course we know from last year that anything can and will happen, but in my opinion this section is really only 3 teams deep this year....and the drop from 1 to 2 and 3 appears to be getting bigger....

Apollo beat and tied Alex. They should and will have the 3 seed.

What about their losses to Sartell and Willmar? And Alexandria has beaten Willmar twice for the record as well.

Upcoming games to keep an eye on:

Monday 2/6:
Sartell vs. Alexandria

Tuesday 2/14:
Sartell vs. Apollo

These games could be measuring sticks as to where Alex and Apollo end up...

Top three seeds are LF, FF and Alex. Every other team (aside from Breckenridge) has 4 or more section losses. To suggest that an Apollo team with a 4-5-1 section record is the 3rd seed is funny.

Losing to Sartell and Willmar in the same week about a month ago really hurt Apollo in terms of where they will be seeded.

Apollo lost to Sartell and Willmar by one goal each. The Willmar loss was in OT. I believe head to head play vs. Alexandria should and will carry more weight.

Say Apollo loses to Sartell again next week, do you think the head to head matchups with Alex will still carry so much weight? I would think all middle tier teams could have a decent case in the seedings discussion.

If Apollo were to lose to Sartell next week I would have to say they would hold the argument for the higher ranking between the 2, thats why the Apollo/Sartell game is huge cause the winner likely has the higer seed.
