Awesome! This is a great spot to have rinks, and the new clubhouse at Pokegama is very nice. It would be nice if the bar were open But thats probably against MSHSL rules. Parking I see as being the only slight issue. And 'ice golf' sounds like a blast. I'm probably gonna haul the Clam up nort, throw down a few lines and enjoy a nice six pack of be..sodas. It would be nice to see public schools in this event. Private schools don't have much of a city following I would think. I can't imagine many followers for a metro private school. It would be nice to see the teams that are involved in hockey day have some history coming up through the youth hockey ranks together. I may be wrong but I don't remember seeing any private schools at the Pee Wee A or Bantam A state tournaments. Edina vs GR would be a Pee Wee A state championship rematch with their next year senior and junior classes. If you want a Northern team it should be Cloquet. Their Pee Wee A and Bantam A teams with their next year senior and junior classes went to state tournaments as well.
Great place to have Hockey Day 2013!! Would love to see Rapids vs. Edina, and maybe another northern team like Roseau or Warroad take on a cities team (Burnsvile, Breck, Maple Grove, ect.)
