Eagan (8-1) @ Minnetonka (10-1) 1-3-12 7pm

Post by HShockeywatcher »

Regardless of who you ask, these are the #'s 3 and 4 teams in the state, although the order you get may be different. This game should determine who will most likely stay in the top 3 the rest of the season.

Only two common opponents this season:
Apple Valley
Tonka: 6-0 W
Eagan: 5-0 W

Rosemount
Tonka: 9-0 W
Eagan: 9-1 W

Should be a great game!

I think Eagan's lack of games vs top teams will hurt them in this one, but this game will help them in the long run. I'll take Tonka 4-3 in this one in a very exciting game.

I wanna predict Eagan surprising the Skippers a bit and winning, but it's in Tonka. Skippers 5-3

I'll take the hometown Skippies in this one. They are nearly impossible to beat at the pagel center...

Minnetonka will come back after their embarassing loss to DE and defeat Eagan by 2 or 3.

This Eagan team..much like the last two years...will likely be at their best as an underdog. They seem to play their best when the rest of us count them out. While they can appear disinterested and sloppy against teams they should dominate, with the challenge of the Skippers facing them I think they will show up and give them one heck of a good game. This is a big, strong, physical Eagan team and on the right night they will give anyone fits.

I like Eagan's chances but I do wish Duluth East had not spanked the Skippers so badly their last game out. They will be highly motivated to redeem themselves. GO WILDCATS !!

One of the best regular season games of the year. At Pagel? Skippers by one.

I'll take Tonka in this one too. I think Tonka getting their tail handed to them last week by East will have a lot to do with it. I have seen Eagan play a lot over the last 2 years and they come at you ALL NIGHT long. They are relentless and wear you down with their 2nd and 3rd lines. They are a very complete team and there is not a huge drop off between their 2nd and 3rd lines vs their 1st line and their 5th and 6th d-men play nearly as good as their 1st and 2nd. I don't see anyone in the south suburban conference competing with them and think they will go deep into state tourney. Wouldn't be blown away if they beat Tonka, but I will take Skippers 5-4.

Considering that Tonka's loss to Edina at home last year was the only home loss since 4 years ago it is pretty hard to bet against them on this one. Especially with their team this year...

I'll take Tonka 5-2

Should be a great game.

I like both teams but I'll pick Eagan as they are a very senior led team. I think that senior size, leadership and experience will play a role.

Eagan 5-4.

Wow. Tonka with two short-handed goals on the same PP takes a 3-1 lead.

Very impressed? Two good teams, though neither as good as East.
