Edina at Armstrong (New Hope) tonight

Post by Froomcat »

Edina is coming off a nice win at Cretin and has only lost once this year. Armstrong has rebounded after two losses on the road to Rochester schools to beat Maple Grove and some others. SHould be a good game at New Hope tonight.

I agree, lots of people are saying that Edina will murder Armstrong tonight and that it's a joke to show these two teams on FSN Feb 2nd. What they don't get is that it's always a good game between these two teams. Two years ago Armstrong beat them and they tied last year. No doubt this will be a very fun game to watch tonight. I wont be able to go see it, so can someone post the stats and sum up the game a little bit later tonight?

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... uy4life at: 12/15/05 10:45 pm

I saw the first two periods. Edina scored on a nice play one minute into the first and Armstrong came back and tied it a few minutes later. I thought Edina had a small advantage in the first.

Armstrong got three consecutive power plays to end the second period (Giles wasn't too happy) as the Falcons had many good scoring chances but couldn't get one by Edina's senior goalie (#30).

Armstrong's defense played pretty well. Edina's forwards were real quick. I noticed Edina won the JV game 9-1, but Armstrong does have some skilled players. The Classic Lake could be wide open. Minnetonka, Armstrong, Edina, and Wayzata all should have a shot. Should be fun.
