With that said this next years team could be their last chance ever, but then again, I've said that a couple other times last decade, so...
The freshman goalie's name is Jermaine Jackson....... Does he have anything to do with the Jackson 5 ?
Bo Bo??? =D> \:D/
Related to Bo Jackson?

Kurth and Hoffman were both seniors this year. Johnson is very starved in the goaltender department. Jackson was solid this year at jv from the few times I watched but I'm not sure if there are that many goalies coming up through the youth program. Moose is pretty good at getting goalies though. As for the seniors that they lost, they lose two of their best defenders, and very important leadership as well in all of the other guys.

It will be interesting to see how the big senior group plays next year. I felt like this years johnson team was pretty good. They seemed to struggle a bit at the beginning of the year. Next year if they can avoid that and get on a role early they could something to watch.

When was the last time they brought back this much talent? They will be loaded with leadership.... I could see a twenty+ win season next year.

They should have no problem lighting the lamp............... Goalie?

Seeing as how I played with a lot of that team I would know about what the seniors brought to the table this year in terms of leadership. I watched them play a few times this year and yes they had no problem scoring but they also struggled a bit on D, and I don't know how their goalie will do next year. He played well for JV. So who knows. I;m hoping for a good season too. It could be Johnson's last shot for a while.
I think you took my question the wrong way.. How many years has it been since Johnson had a group coming back like this one? Looking on the Hockey Hub at 09-10 team and what they brought back for this year is very minimal in comparison.

And they played good quality opponents very well this year.

I see Jay Dickman got all-state honorable mention. That's well done for a Junior and you can expect he will get another one next year. Again, next year will come down to goaltending and if they have a sophmore in nets - not good.

Did they have a 98 born goalie playing for them in the Gopher(?) State League?

Yes they have a 98 goalie that will more than likely be one of their varsity goalies. Phenomenal athlete but to make the jump from A pee-wee to varsity will be extremely tough. They also lost one of their key players to a junior club. I also recently heard Dickman received an offer to play else where - not sure if he accepted or not. This has been a great group coming through the ranks and I believe could have even been better. It will be interesting to see how they do. It is Johnsons last shot - They haven't had an A bantam team for the last couple years and even thought they are combined with Como at the youth level they have no A teams at any level this year. I wish them the best of luck!

They lost Brandon Busse - He is playing for the Twin City Junior Steel - He is leading the steel in points so far. Would have definitely helped Johnson in what looks to be the last year for a storied program. The 98 goalie is their only varsity goalie - was an A peewee last year - BIG jump. If there is an 8th grader in the state that can handle it - he is the one. Great kid and a great goalie - I wish him the best of luck. Dickman did stay so that will help. It will be an interesting season for the boys from St. Paul Johnson.

They lost to SSP 5-4 in OT. Looked like a good game. Dickman I believe scored 2 and may have had a helper as well. He will put up big numbers and will at the least be honorable state mention once again. If I talk to his dad I will see what he hopes to do next year. Last year he said USHL for sure.

Looks like they beat Rochester JM last Saturday as well 5-1.

Any known reason why Busse left? Makes no sense with the attention Johnson will get this year....

I see he was #14:

http://www.mnhockeyhub.com/roster_players/360183

His numbers were hardly impressive last year and they played some bad teams. How in the world does this kid move to a Jrs team and be at the top of their scoring after lackluster numbers last year in the Tri-City???

:?

Meant to say Tri-Metro.

He was one of their most skilled players. Was moved to D once he made varsity as a sophomore. Has always been one of the top players for this group as they moved through the ranks. A lot more ways to judge a player than points. He was moved to D because he was able to get Johnson out of their zone and he is a very good skater. Not saying he is going D1, but he certainly would have helped Johnson this year.

I see the MSHSL has Johnson back in 4AA. Why the move up?
