It's been going downhill fast, but when you look at what happened this year, it's now officially over. The last couple holdouts for taking Freshmen on Varsity and JV, Edina and Eden Prairie, both snapped up the top end kids. Benilde took one of last years Edina top 14 kids and top 12 kids. Blake and Visitation pirated the other Edina top end.
Not much left now in either EP or Edina. Still some decent talent, but not as good on the top end, and nowhere as deep. Haven't seen Tonka yet. What happened in Wayzata?

Wow, didn't know EP's success rested completely on the backs of 3 girls. They are good, but they didn't carry the team. Last year EP had the top two freshmen playing varsity and JV. This year none of the freshman JV are what I would call impact players.D6 Girls Fan wrote:It's been going downhill fast, but when you look at what happened this year, it's now officially over. Check your facts!! Why again are you singling out the 8th graders? Why are you placing the responsibility of the entire 14U prrogram and their success on legitimate first year 14's? Does the fact that the 14 program was raded by the varsity program and ALL 6 (not 5) 9TH GRADERS WERE TAKEN TO PLAY have nothing to do with it? Get a clue!overrated wrote:Big Red is dead too. A certain large cranium fellow and his army buddy decided to cut and run after the 5 freshmen fled. I guess the opportunity to play for the coach who won the 12A state title last year wasn't worth it.
You can say what you want on here, but you know as well as I that if your daughter was given the opportunity to play with a great team and at a great level, you would be gone in a second!! We'll see who is leaving when your kid gets to that point. It is an amazing opportunity for those involved and there talent and dediccation have lead them to it. I say congratulations to them and so do a vast majority of the 14U team.
And refering to "A Certain large cranium" as you put it, he is one of the strongest supporters of Centennial Youth Girls Hockey, a guy who does more for the association than anyone I know, you should be thanking him for his years of service as you have directly bennefited from his dedication to the sport! But go ahead, shred a guy for wanting and providing the very best for his kid! You're a fool
That's rite, I am sticking up for a guy who is my friend even though he doesn't need it and my name is JOE HARRIS!

Don't count the Army out yet!
Little bird says a certain soldier got cut when she tried to jump to HS, didn't like JV, and she'll be back in the Army. So, DON'T COUNT THE ARMY OUT!

Red Army (Joe) - I thank you for your well deserved tongue lashing to “overrated”. He/She has NO CLUE what’s going on within Centennial Hockey.... either on the association or high school level. Nor does he/she know how much work “large cranium” has committed himself to the association over the years. I too thank him for all the work he has accomplished.Freddy's Red wrote:Little bird says a certain soldier got cut when she tried to jump to HS, didn't like JV, and she'll be back in the Army. As for Freddy, why do you feel the need to cut 8th graders down? Unbelievably sick. Please go to the mirror, right now, and look at your pathetic self. MN Hockey and MSHSL have set the system up to where you must tryout for 14U’s before high school. I think we all know it would be a better system if it were in reverse. Thus, if your anger or jest is toward the families involved, then be a man/woman and approach them yourself. If not, then go to MN Hockey and MSHSL and file a complaint.

Eden Prairie taking freshman is nothing new! EP has taken 8th graders in the past.D6 Girls Fan wrote:It's been going downhill fast, but when you look at what happened this year, it's now officially over. Get your facts straight.
