Unless the kids younger than them are phenomenal or they have significantly improved, I find it hard to believe they will jump up with teams like Eagan, Duluth East, or Benilde.

Their program is large enough and they have enough depth to be top 20, maybe top 15. But that top group of 5 teams are significantly stronger.

I think it might finally be Burnsville's year to win section 2 again. :)
the juniors won a pee wee state title, and had a decent team as bantams. saying they werent top contenders i think would be false, not the most talented group from edina but not bad
The Juniors from the A Peewee team that won the title are not all playing at Edina as Juniors. Handful of there top players have transferred out to other High Schools
this is true they lost lettieri to tonka and moore and laboskey to benilde but i bealive there best players at the time are still on the edina team now but nonetheless they were a good team as bantams without these 3 players and reno who played varsity as a freshman

I could be wrong, but doesn't BSM need to really shore up their defense before being considered a true top contender?

I think the one problem for Edina, as well as the rest of the lake, will be goaltending. The only returner that I can think of in the conference is Dingman of Wayzata.

No kidding and Dingman will not have as much out in front of him this season. With all the free agent transfers this off season sort of odd he did not make jump over to Minnetonka

Thought there might be some chirping about Blaine this year. Appears to me there won't be a forward stud on this team this year. Gonna have to rely on the other Brodzinski to make some noise in the Conference. Goaltending will be exceptional with Marvin returning, but regarding the remaining it's going to have to be a team effort. Maple Grove will be the team to beat this year followed by Centennial and Elk River.

No one wants to hear this but EP will make some noise this year. Funny thing happens when 3 classes come together in HS....You can throw out stats from two years ago. Bad news is that EP doesn't't sneak up on anyone.

The only noise he will make is with his mouth.

Basically the whole varisty team graduated and last years JV team was nothing special; last years bantam A's won state- are you saying that the bantam A sopho's are going to step up on varsity and make some noise? or is there another Rau in the ranks?

With the coaching staff granting varsity positions to bantam eligible players, before tryouts, I don't know who you think these senior players are.

Yeah I haven't heard anything about that. Unless they are taking Jake Kielly as their goalie this year I don't know why Smith would do that either.
EP two out of three.

Well I have only heard good things about Kielly, with some even saying he was the best bantam in the state as a first year. And who else do they have to replace Ford?
