HM
Herlofsky and Johnson were discussed on this board about 2 months ago. The real losses for HM are Luke Voltin going to the NTDP and Travis Wood going to a Canadian junior league team in Erie, PA. Nobody can blame Voltin or Wood for making the jump to big time junior hockey. Herlofsky and Johnson are looking for happiness or stardom elsewhere as seniors. I wish them the best. I can think of a number of kids who came to or left HM as seniors to go to other high school teams over the years. That's a tough adjustment. HM will not be hurt by their leaving. They will be hurt by the losses of Voltin and Wood. HM has great returning forwards but will have to build a defensive corp with last year's JVers. 4 of these guys are now juniors and 2 sophomores that will get a chance they might not have without the defections.

Wow, a little thin skinned over there on the east side of the river. No need to bash either kid. If you don't think they will be missed then you are entitled to your opinion. Herlofsky left because his family moved to Andover. The title of the thread was transfers for this year and this is the only time either player is mentioned. Settle down and enjoy your team, whoever they suit up.

Don't kid yourself, it was not a bed of roses over at hill last year. The bottom line was Lex had more good players than he did jerseys. Unfortunately it can be a problem when you have too many quality players. BSM may be in the same boat this year as they have a whole bunch of good players fighting for ice time and you'll naturally end up with some unhappy players/parents. Hopefully it works out well for these two.

Much better to have too many good players than not enough! And to the extent that it's a "problem" it's not unique to private schools. A good indicator: programs that have undefeated JV teams and ones with very few losses.keepyourheadup wrote:Unfortunately it can be a problem when you have too many quality players.
