I live in Hudson Wisconsin I was playing for the Wisconsin fire, but I can’t play there any more. A couple of my friends from Stillwater said they were going to play for the ponies this winter. Can I go play with them?

Go into your association sometime and ask around about why does so and so get away with that. How come stuff like that goes on. People with either look nervous and run from you or will tell you that it happens because that is how the board wants it to happen. For starters as soon as you say you want change your kids (even the unborn ones) are slotted on the lowest B2 team there is, no matter what. Stand up and say you want onto the board to make some changes, good luck, the board runs the elections and counts the votes. Now of course you go to the district level, good luck there, the rest of the boards in your district who are behaving exactly like this are going to step in and you are not going anywhere. And on and on it goes.

This is a totally cerebral argument for me. MN Hockey is living back in the day when this model worked and refuses to look around and see that it is broken. I sit here and know full well that this won't change but also feel bad that it won't. If one change could be made it would but it won't because the people who are entrenched in power are not going anywhere and they are enjoying the benefits and power that comes along with being the king. Getting your ring kissed by the peasants is way better than having to compete with them. I do not think that MN Hockey can change or will change. The powers that be do not see a reason to change and as long as they have the power they are not going too. What has to happen and what is in the process of happening is that MN Hockey is going to be forced out. Their power to enforce their rules took a hit when they lost that lawsuit. New people are coming to town to provide the services that the peasants want and slowly but surely the peasants are going to change providers.

No matter how desperately MN Hockey tries to retain power and to make sure that the good old days continue to exist it is a lost battle for them. The very entity that they in turn service (USA Hockey) is going to be the same one that finishes them off when (not if) they sanction the first non association hockey club in MN against MN Hockey's wishes. I think/thought that it was going to be an AAU type situation in outer MN or somebody like Walser who came into town and forced the issue. Others think that it will be a MM type of entity that gets it going by putting together a league and then getting it sanctioned. We might both be wrong or we both might be right. It might be something really crazy like a bunch of girls up north.

Observer, there are way more than six of us who are not happy now. Six of us are on this board taking a position but there are countless others who agree with us and remain silent. There are more who have looked at it and decided that it is a lost cause and have either bought a house across the boarder or who have shipped their kids off to MI or someplace else. Go on living your dream. Change is coming, some say it is here, you are getting reports from across the land about how it is there and working and the peasants like it. MN Hockey has to understand that we the peasants are not happy here in MN. We do not like being held hostage and having our kids held hostage by an entity who's only argument is that back in the day it worked great.
Beware of peasants bearing Pitch Forks !!!!
More likley helicopter parents in a yukons or beemers.
There are peasants, and then there are peasants.. I have 2 Beemers, and trust me I'm a peasant. (K75RT and K75S) for the beemer people.

I live in Anoka, and my Dad said I have to play for Anoka. I hate the coach, and all the kids say I’m not good enough to be on this team. It’s not any fun!! I asked my Dad if I could play at Elk River He told me no! This just sucks!!

I was born before July. When I went to play Bantams there were 16 yr old's on the team. I am only 13... I don't think that's fair. I was on the A peewee team, now I'm on the B team. Everybody say's just wait till next year.. My friend from White Bear Lake say's they need a kid on their team, and the guys on their team aren't all 175 lbs.. Why can't I go play with them?

By the way ..Were waiting............

Most associations have a few families who, when their child does not make a certain team, they come to the conclusion that the board and coaches cheated. It couldnt possibly be the correct decision was made. Other members recognize this negative behavior and start to separate from them. Most reasonable people become aware of this and keep their distance from the poor me, I got screwed personalities. I believe its a horrible way to raise children, but best of luck to you. You speak with an attitude of having all the answers, yet you have zero accurate knowledge of what is actually going on at mn or usa hockey, or at michigan hockey, or new england hockey. Just your assumptions based on what you read on the net. This is why you refuse to take your opinions where they can affect change. Most of us peasants are smart enough to stay away from you and look for true leaders. [2 sentences of a personal attack have been excised from this post. Hint, hint.]

Don't you just love it............I have thought this has been a very reasonable discussion up to this point. It's very interesting to me that some find the need to be nasty and launch personal attacks when someone starts to make valid arguments/take the devils advocate approach. Fight fair, if you are going to get into this discussion. Attack the issue not the messenger.

Oh thats right, only some get to do that, I didnt pick the fight here, but im not so cowardly to stand toe to toe. Typical. Another peasant stands up to challenge the peasant king, and is quickly put in his place. NPC claims at every turn to be right, there is no room in his arguement, that he may ne wrong. That NEEDS to be challenged.

In fairness ..NPC did take a couple of shots at the Coach back on page 7.

All's Fair, but your right, insinuations that the guy is living in a cave in Montana might be going a little far.

Ok ..now about the samples provided. How about it coach wanna take a shot at any of them?

Wow, I think I hit a nerve.
Yes you did!! Funny how 6 screwballs can cause the establishment to run around with their hair on fire. And they all say the same thing.. We think we know everything, but we are just stupid deluded fools... If we would only listen to their wisdom we would see the light, Oh...wait I forgot .. you can't see the light your in a cave some where near Butte.

I'm a C type player up here in Mora and I was stuck playing Squirt A's because of a few talented kids. I feel like a cone and they tell me to just pass the puck.... I'm hoping that next year I can feel more like I'm part of a team and develop some skills.

Could you help me Mr. Observer?

My name is Timmy and I play at Blaine. I guess my dad tried to kiss the coaches wife and now the coach hates me and my family?

Could you help me Mr. Observer?

Hi, my name is Jason. I've played A Hockey for the last four years. This year I didn't make A because I didn't go to the coaches camp. He picked a couple kids that are good friends with their family........ This Summer I had made two AAA teams that they didn't make. The 40% coaches pick really sucks.

What should I do....... DAD?

I think I counted 9 examples of situations a Walser, or other sponsored Tier 1 team could solve instantly. So far there haven't been any answers from the defenders of the status Quo.. Unlike me, they are all probably out watching hockey some where. So I'll just be patient and wait for their solution to the examples posted. The way I see it, It's either Waive or Walser !!

I still haven't given up on District wide Tier 1 teams..

Not watching hockey, but yes, busy learnimg , teaching, and developing strategjes to improve the game, the development, and the experience for the kids. Since im mobile and dont care to type a full response on such a little keypad, ill answer all the scenerios with the same answer. Stop kissing the coaches wife and take a neatral look at your players ability. Of course your buddy says he had a great tryout, what do you expect him to say? Stop letting your child feel like his self worth should come from a hockey tryout. Look to someone in your area that can help. They are there, but if you are running around saying they are a crook, they probably arent as interested in spending time with you. Dont be one of the conspiracy theorists. Be a positive and helpful member of your local association. Bottom line? Let your kid play and drop the bitterness so he/she can enjoy themself. Long reply on a small keypad. Enjoy the typos

Hi Coach,

Hey I'm impressed.. I can't get it right on a full sized key board..
When you have the time I would like your input. Each of the situations I posted are real world examples. If you look at each one of them they are legitimate questions. If you wish to pass ok. There are real answers, and solutions to the examples I posted. No bitterness, no conspiracies, No crooks, not about what someone thinks their kids abilities are. and no kissing the coaches wife....Real situations looking for real answers. Do you have any?

Oh yeah, the Walser thing? USA nor Minnesora hockey is under no obligation to grant anyone, let alone one that doesnt comply with the rules, an affiliate agreement. Also, to say that usa hockey has any interest in not supporting Minnesotas current model is simply flat out wrong, and there is not one shred of truth to it. In fact, is is clearly among the most respected affiliates in the country.

Do you think there is any way Minnesota hockey would support a tier I set up under their guidance. What do you think about district teams. It is the largest affiliate in the country. I for one do not want to see it go away. How about tier I within the Minnesota hockey franchise?

I'm taking this totally out of context, but it is a big part of the problem.

Ill address the scenerios when I have more time and a full size keyboard. Also, my prior response was not directed at you. There are clearly plans to offer higher levels of play, at appropriate ages, for the top players within minnesota.

I personally dont think being involved and asking for help equates to getting on your knees. Its called support and collaboration. You may see it that way, I dont. You keep asking for supporting evidence, yet all you offer to support your opinion, is your opinion of how things should be, with reasoning that is not factual. You make wild claims that Mn hockey does not have the support of usa hockey. How can you make these demands of others, yet not give them yourself? The arguement for the minnesota model has been made here many times. You've never heard it.
