NHL Charity Game on July 20th in Cottage Grove.

The Hastings Hockey Association along with Defending the Blue Line are hosting a NHL Players Charity Hockey Game scheduled for July 20, 2011. The event has grown considerably in several ways. Recent NHL players Brent Burns (Minnesota Wild), Paul Martin (Pittsburgh Penguins), Jordon Leopold (Buffalo Sabres), and Kyle Okposo (NY Islanders) have now verbally commited to participate as well as others. Fox Sports North, Channel 5, and Channel 11 have expressed interest in covering the event. Hastings High School graduate and Super Bowl winner Ben Utecht will sing the national anthem. Additionally, due to the NHL players and charities involved, the NHL Players Association has contacted us about making a donation to the event, and in fact are flying someone in from Toronto to drop the puck.

They are two pre-sale dates for this event at the Cottage Grove Ice Arena and Hastings Arena on June 22nd and June 25th. Any tickets remaing will be sold at the door the day of the event.

You will never get this close to 25-30 NHL stars again. The event starts with a autograph session from 5:30 - 6:30 and the game starts at 7:00.

I just spoke to the organizer of the event and he told me they have a 95% commitment from Zack Parise and Drew Stafford. This is going to be a pretty cool event.

He also told me that with a capacity of 1,500 tickects that they are worried that there will not be many tickets still avaliable on Game Day.

He said there are two up coming pre-sales dates 6/22 from 6:00 - 8:00 and 6/25 from 11:00 - 1:00 at both the Hastings Ice Arena and Cottage Grove Ice Arena.

He also suggested that you can contact the 3 contacts listed on the flyer located at www.hastingshockey.com and they will work with you to get tickects in advance.

What a cool way to get real close to some of the real stars and up coming stars of the NHL.

Ticket Pre-Sales went very well from what I am being told for this event. It does sound like there will be tickets at the door the night of the event. Mark July 20th in your calendar for this great event.

Just got confirmation that Zack Parise has committed to play in this game. Sounds like the having the NHLPA involved helped.

I know for a fact that this is going to be a great event. The only thing I know for sure is that the Hastings Hockey Boosters is not putting this event on it's Brad Stepan, Derek Stepan, and Matt Larson. If it is true that Zach Parise is coming I will not miss this game. Thanks to Brad Stepan and Matt Larson for all your hard work. Some of us in the program do appreciate all the time and effort.

Just learned that Brent Burns is still planning on playing in the game. For the Brent Burns fans this is your last chance to see him up close in MN.

I just sopke to one of the event organizers and he told me that there will be some tickets avaliable at the door next week Wednesday July 20th for the game. It sounds like the ticket office will open at 4:30 and the doors to the rink will open at 5:00 with the autograph session starting at 5:30.

he said people may want to get there early if they want to get autographs from all the players.

I just learned that Thomas Camel has committed to playing on Wednesday night.. get there early they are expecting to sell out.
