What is different between Machine Black & Machine Orange

Post by O-townClown »

I have some friends that will be in Chicago this weekend. They face the Orange. Are these two balanced teams? AAA1 and AAA2? Something different entirely?

Thanks.

The 97s have a group of 25 skaters (5 lines) - 3 lines on Orange, 2 on Black. It is run similar to the Legacy program. For tournaments one Orange line will play on the Black team in each of their tournaments (on a rotating basis). They all practice together. I'm not sure if the other age groups are run the same way.

Sorry, I guess I didn't answer your question very well. Orange is the "A1" and Black is the "A2". Orange will play the top tier tournaments: Winnipeg, Chicago, along with the Caribou Cup and Stars & Stripes. Black is in the other local tournaments: Independent Classic, LSS tourney in Duluth, International Cup, and Easton Cup.

Machine Orange is just the Machine team of the past.........Machine Black is, more or less, a replacement for the past Torspo sponsorship.

Nope, 3rd time was not the charm for the Orange. Bauer Selects have beaten them in the finals in all three tournaments this year by a combined 23-7.

Have a friend who's son was asked to join the Minnesota Made Machine Team. Do the kids that make their teams stay the same throughout or is their a risk that they may be rejected down the road if bigger, better, faster comes around down the road?

I would think yes. That would be the right thing to do. I wouldn't expect him to keep a player if better comes along. Just the way it is.

Looking at the famed 96 team, that roster seemed to be fairly stable from beginning to end.
