Any exhibition games get played this weeekend?
Just wondering if any teams played any exhibition games this weekend.
Quiet weekend on the tournament front, need something to satisfy my hockey requirements.
Fire away......thanks and happy easter!

Wow, no games this weekend. Heard the 2000 Manitoba Lightning lit up the number 2 team in Manitoba this weekend. Apparantly they have improved their team with some new acquisitions. That is all i have heard thus far. Looks like Manitoba could be contenders in a couple of the age groups at the Stars and Stripes.

Blades beat the Edge 8-4, in what was being described around the rink on Saturday afternoon as a sloppy game. Who knows.
As far as the 00 Lightning, they are a decent team but saying they beat up on the #2 up there doesn't say a whole lot. Manitoba teams, at least at the 00 level, are pretty weak: Storm, Mustangs, Hurricanes, etc.
Added to the fact that the Lightning lost their best player (R.S.) over the winter to another organization, and you could see a rematch of the Bauer Selects and the Orange on Sunday in the SnS finals.

RS hasn't gone to a new team. Infact they added players, didn't lose any top players.Deep Breath wrote:Blades beat the Edge 8-4, in what was being described around the rink on Saturday afternoon as a sloppy game. Who knows.

Not suggesting they do. Just saying they still have that player and added a few strong players.Deep Breath wrote:His dad mentioned a month ago that he was playing for a different team this summer. After seeing the Blades beat the Lighting 3-1 a few weeks ago, I'm not sure the Bauer Selects need to worry just yet.
I talked to some Blade parents, they said the game was close till the edge switched goalies half way through the second. Let 4 in by the start of third. Then they went back to the other one.Deep Breath wrote:Blades beat the Edge 8-4, in what was being described around the rink on Saturday afternoon as a sloppy game. Who knows.

00 Edge handle Iceman 5-1, they will be tough to beat.
The 2000 Edge dominated the Icemen in that game. Quote
Looks like all of your posts are about the 00' edge. Interesting.

He thinks I am an 2000 Edge parent. My kids are in college. I checked out a few of those kids on that team. As well as some from the Icemen. We tend to stay away from Machine kids because they burn out. Let's just say I watch a lot of squirt-peewee hockey every year checking out the more talented players.

That makes no sense to me. Can you elaborate?Dilligaf wrote:He thinks I am an 2000 Edge parent. My kids are in college. I checked out a few of those kids on that team. Nope. For those who drink the Bernie kool-aid, logical discussion is a waste of time.HockeyDad41 wrote:That makes no sense to me. Can you elaborate?Dilligaf wrote:He thinks I am an 2000 Edge parent.
