Goldfishdude prediction update

Post by Goldfishdude »

I know Goldfishdude makes a mockery of his predictions with HS hockey and my 4-479 record, but it carries over into the NCAA basketball brackets.

I am in the bottom 11% of nearly 6M entrants on the ESPN pool.

Goldfishdude can make alot of you people rich!!

 Good to know your talents extend beyond hockey.

I suspect I have you to blame for the Hoyas' first-round exit? :x

Then it would all make sense...

Give it up, Karl.

The Hounds are your team, not the Hoyas.

Karl, I did have G-Town going to Sweet Sixteen only to get beat by Notre Dame.. Funny, both didn't get there.

Sorry to jinx the Hoyas... I actually thought about you when I did pick them.

To make your money, choose wisely.

To get to the Elite 8, I have Kentucky over Ohio State, North Carolina over Marquette, Duke over Arizona, UConn over San Diego, BYU over Florida, Butler over Wisconsin, Florida State over Virginia Comm and Kansas over Richmond..

I will add Hockey in a bit.

These are the first round winners:

Yale over Air Force
Duluth over Union

New Hampshire upsetting Miami
Notre Dame upsetting Merrimack

North Dakota over Renssaelar
Denver over Western Michigan

Boston College over Colorado College
Nebraska-Omaha upsetting Michigan

As much as I appreciate my university...that is absolutely true. :)

I had season tickets my freshman year, and it was pretty entertaining. But in the end, it simply doesn't compare. This year, I only watched fractions of the first round game in the tourney. Other people got worked up about it; I went and watched old hockey highlights.

Of course, my interest level might be higher if this team didn't choke down the stretch every year.

My NCAA picks in the inferior winter sport:
Ohio State
North Carolina
Arizona (wishful thinking)
SDSU (Big East is good at choking)
BYU
Wisconsin (my sentimental pick)
VCU (might as well give them a miracle run)
Kansas

And I'll give the hockey tourney a shot too, even though I don't follow NCAA hockey much beyond a few WCHA teams. (Not much coverage out here.)

I'm feeling much more confident in my pick of Miami to win it all.

As long as you can get the Fighting Sioux you really don't need any other hockey coverage. 8)

Goldfishdude,

Hey, I just want to know if the world is going to end in 2012 as says the Mayan Calendar. What is your prediction? It will help me with vacation plans....

I should never have listened to him - he told me it was a lock that BC would repeat as National Champs!

I just hope he does not predict anything for UND. :) At least BC came back a little bit, hard to believe that it was the same BC team that was on the satellite every once and awhile.

Political..... I respect UND too much to jinx them, so I will not make any predictions on them going forward.

I just jinxed Nebraska-Omaha.. never should bet on them after my night of having a beer with Mike Guentzel...

Yeah, MNhokeyfan.. I thought BC was a lock to win it all.

I bet my house on it...

Now, I have to drive it to the bookie by 3 p.m.

Teaker,

The Japan incident hasn't helped my rationalization of the impending earth's doom.

Although I have subliminal fears of a galactic alignment, in which there will be a combined gravitational effect between the Sun and the super massive Black Hole at the center of our galaxy called the Sagittarius A that will create havoc on Earth, my Maya insiders have helped ease my concerns by reinforcing they have a New Age theory that debunks the apocalypse.

However, with the Earth's magnetic field weakening, my concerns of a geomagnetic reversal are still prominent in my hypothesis that what we now know as the north pole will become the south pole. But, that could take up to 5,000 years to complete.

So, just like our athletes today are bigger, stronger and faster, we are also more intelligent, and the old-age Mayans can shove a wooden Sherwood Coffey blade up where the everlasting sun doesn't shine. Besides, they just built a Wendy's with a two-car lane drive-thru. Would they have done that if the world was ending? Not me, I would be making it rain at the Saratoga in Duluth.

So, Teaker, go ahead and make travel plans, but I urge you to stay removed from New Orleans, the Gulf of Mexico, Hawaii, Japan, Chile, The East coast Atlantic region. The Pacific Coastal regions, any and all cruises...Don't even go near Red Wing, Mn with the Prairie Island nuclear power plant there.

So, enjoy Huron, South Dakota, Dyersville, Iowa to see Field of Dreams, or, by all means, help save the US Hockey Hall of Fame and make a trip there.
