1 ER 16.26 East
2 Blaine 14.55 East
3 Anoka 14.45 East
4 Hermantown 14.28 East
5 WBL 13.31 East
6 DlthEast 13.29 East
7 Tartan 12.55 East
8 Mahtomedi 11.85 East

Average of 8 Teams = 13.82
Average Less Top 2 Teams = 13.29 Second Toughest Region
My Comments = ER advances and Blaine, Anoka and Hermantown are there at end fighting for second spot.

I think it is pretty safe to say that the final results will be different than what the data projects and it should interesting to see what happens - my personal favorite time of year for sports.

Elk River is in the East. That would mean 5 West, 2N, 2S, and 1 East

West Regonal will be fun to watch with 7 of the 8 teams having great seasons and momentum entering the Regions...St Cloud being the host team could give them an edge in the battle of attrition that this Regional will likely become.

East Regional will be interesting,,,it's essentially a home tournament for Anoka...which won the tounament they hosted in January, beating Farmington 3-2 in the Championship game.

Mahtomedi is on a roll (an 8th seed beating top seeded Roseville) and so is Tartan and WBL appears solid...Blaine plays a physical style and so does Hermantown I'm told...Duluth East teams ususually peak come tournament time and ER is 2-0 vs. Anoka winning 5-4 and 5(en)-3 in 1 hr time limit District 10 games and has won two and lost one vs. Blaine.

In past years, I've seen team's cruise to the championship game, lose in OT...and then lose momentum and get beat in the final elimination game by the team they beat in their 1st game....this especially may hold true in the West Regional featuring 7 really good teams.

In the South, Rosemount and Farmington appear headed to State, but the Lakeville teams or possibly Rochester may have some thing to say about that.

In the North, Bemidji, GR and Moorhead are the clear favorites but EGF and TRF may by factors.

Correction:

Anoka beat Rosemount 3-2 to win the tournament they hosted in January...NOT Farmington. Sorry about that.

Yes, it was at the Anoka Classic tourney...and if Anoka and Rosemount are lucky enough to play at a neutral site this season...it will be at BIG in two weeks.

No surprise coming from you that your are acting like a blubberring idiot already this morning, your team hasn't even played one game in Regions yet and your talking about playing Rosemount in State.

Do you think Hermantown or Blaine are going to be easy for you??

Good Luck this weekend, I can't wait to watch your head explode when you get knocked out

Anoka is playing with house money right now....no one expected them to advance to Regions...and you've taken public shots at me before...so I'm not at all surprised you choose to surface now...LOL.

I'm certainly NOT predicting Anoka advancing to State. Hermantown will be a tough game for Anoka and could go either way. After that, who knows, but Anoka has had a great season regardless of how this weekend goes...and my head will be just fine....either way.

What is with you Elk River parents, is there something in the water up there?

He said "if they're lucky enough."

You attack with "blubberring idiot" and "can't wait to watch your head explode"

Don't tell me there is a problem with the Elk River A peewee parents too..

15-3 final. Fergus played hard but was just did not have it in them today. Rapids opened the weekend with an I impressive performance. They will be tough to beat if they move the puck like that the rest of they weekend.

Hermantown 3
Anoka 2

Exciting game which could have went either way. Both goalies played very well. Hermantown is a strong fore-checking team.

In all of my years of youth hockey, I have never seen a coach encourage kids to goon it up at the end of a game like I did tonight at the MAC! I find it interesting that a coach would choose to shorten the bench in the last five minutes of a game when you are down 6-0 to goon it up.

Although the coaches minions in the stands seem to follow suit, it clearly shows "the speed of the leader is the speed of the pac".

I feel sorry for the 12 year old kids who are subject the teachings of a radical extremist coach.

I WISH THEIR KIDS THE BEST OF LUCK AGAINST WAYZATA TOMORROW!
