Orono pulls off the upset*!

*Not sure if you could call it an upset since Blake has been struggling as of late.

3-2 final, Luetdke with the Hatty!

Breck-Orono Final! Let's go Orono!

I looked at the gamesheet on hockeyhub..... Looks like Orono scored 35 seconds into the game and 2 in the last 45 seconds of the game!!!! And everyone thinks you need 51 minutes to win a game!!!

If only Delano could have pulled it off, we'd be looking at a Wright County Conference/Public-Public school faceoff. Complete opposite of what was expected.

I can't speak for everyone, but I think many would like to see a different team come from this section. It's always been Breck, Blake, and Orono, even though it may have been a while for some. Delano could've had a good shot. It would've been interesting to see a team like them at the X, but Orono could be interesting too. The top privates in this section are finally both having a down year at the same time so the public's need to take advantage. And, with the way teams are in A, an Orono or Delano couldn't be considered an out for sure. Go Orono!

Orono is playing for all the single A public schools who don't get a chance to play in the state tournament because of these private schools. I love their chances they have looked great lately should be a great game

Agreed. They totally dominated Providence and found a way to play with and beat a Blake team that was highly favored. They are going into a game against a Breck team that has struggled to get to the championship game and is quite different than the team that literally coasted through last years section with three wins by a total score of 21-2. This is the year to break the 5 year lock Breck and Blake have had on this section as many of these teams will be losing significant senior talent and Breck appears to be returning all of its leading scorers, defensemen and goalie. Go Spartans! As Herb Brooks said..."This is YOUR time"!!!

Struggled? They beat Mound handily, and played a very impressive Delano team to overtime. A Delano team that beat your Orono squad twice this season. I wouldn't call it "struggled". But I agree with you on one thing, Go Spartans!
