Should probalby throw Blaine in thex mix as well. I am sure there are others but those seem to be getting the best of most of their games so far.

Agian there are quite a few more top teams in the West and North than in the East and South so far.

looks like Sibley lost to Lakeville North 6-2 on the 12th of Dec.

They also play Eagan this week who should be pretty good. This week will tell a lot more about them.

Squirt hockey and Sibley had a brain fart is my guess. One of the Sibley parents advised a Lakeville parent they were 16-0 coming into that game? A lot of scrimmages. I have seen them, they have one very top end in 34, but in the game I saw their goalie was not tested. Heard Lakeville popped in 5 goals on 5 shots and at one point were up 6-0. Sible must have taken the day off - completely.

No doubt squirt hockey is always a crap shoot. Every year the most skilled teams get beat by someone they shouldn't even have a game with.

It will be interesting to see if Edina has any of those days this year. It looks to me as if they have too many high end players for all of them to have an off night. It will probably take a goalie to stand on his head to beat them.

On that note the Lakeville North Goalie is very good and can keep them in many a game even if their skaters will sometimes struggle.

IDK, how good are they relative to the other A teams up there? Big, Small, Medium association? I went on their website but since I don't know the "landscape" up there very well it wasn't real informative for me. So, IDK, anything you can tell me I guess.... Our association is a WI association, if you happen to understand how our associations work down here how would you compare them relative to that?

Tartan
Minnetonka

Well now that the season is almost wrapped up was wondering how these picks may have changed? I did not make any preseason picks nor am I well versed enough to do it on MN teams but was just curious on both the MN and WI side of things.

With respect to MN and in no particular order (should be a good start):

-replace (4) Stillwater, Tartan, Forest Lake and Roseville
-add (5) Eden Prairie, Eastview, Grand Rapids, Sibley, Warroad

What criteria are you using to rank the teams for the end of year? Overall W-L record?, number of Championships during regular season? Or just by the showing in Fargo?

Gut feeling (and maybe part of the above) watching some teams and the corresponding results here/there.

W-L records are rarely out there. Number of Championships moot as it depends who else is/was in there and when tournament was played. The Fargo showing is indeed the best indicator, who is playing the best hockey at the end of the year is what matters to me. Fine and dandy if a team played well at the start, but did they adjust, were they well coached, did they improve? Again the Fargo showing is the best indicator if your asking what has changed from the pre-season (beginning).

I had the opportunity to see STMA mid-season but I would sure have to at least put Minnetonka ahead of them after seeing them recently.

What about Blaine and Andover? I thought district 10 was suppose to be strong.

Personally never saw them play but heard andover pretty good. Case could likely be made.

I would put Centennial above STMA, saw both Centennial and STMA twice and Centennial was much more impressive. Deeper talentwise although both play great team hockey.

Nice. I'll give Wisconsin a try based on what I saw in person combined with scores and matchups I saw online. Not real scientific here.

WISCONSIN
--------------
Portage County (Stevens Point)
Sun Prairie, WI
Eau Claire
Waupun
Oregon
Everest (Schofield)
Eagle River
Wausau
Superior
Elmbrook

Honorable Mention:
Middleton
Menomonie
West Madison Polar Caps
Waukesha
Chippewa Falls

Honestly, from what I could see/saw Sun Prairie and Portage County really separated themselves from the pack the rest listed were all pretty close and could probably beat eachother on any given day. :?

Yeah, I always forget abut Hudson because they do not participate in much of any WAHA or in state events. I think they think they are part of MN. So yeah they should probably be in there too somewhere but tough to pinpoint where

Saw Hudson played against one metro team, not very impressive. How is their record against MN teams?

Looks like on their website they were .500 on their season and it looks like they only played 3 WI teams all season, all the rest were MN teams. Somehow they are able to compete in your MN playoffs. They were in the D2 playoffs, in the D2 playoffs they beat Roseville Squirt A 2-0, beat Forest Lake Squirt A 3-2, then lost to White Bear Lake Squirt A 5-1 and were supposed to play Mounds View in 3rd place game but I see no score for that game. Most of their games are listed on their website. :/
