Best Bantam A team in State

Post by bearsfan34 »

Its starting to get down around that time of year, and everybody is asking, "who's gonna make a run at the title?" yes yes I know that district playoffs are still going on, but in your opinion, what three teams have the best shot at the ship?

for me it has to be either..

Wayzata, Elk River, or Eden Prairie

How many districts began their playoffs last weekend for Bantam A?

I think I know what team SuperStar thinks is the best at the Bantam A level, but as usual the SuperStar takes the high road

District Three show Orono beating Maple Grove in OT after an OT win over Hopkins sending MG to the left of the bracket.

The Storm and Wayzata will find the other one headed left.

Wow, that's an unexpected loss for MG.

D2 action has NSP eliminated after play-in game vs. Tartan.

Bracket play:

Stillwater 6, Tartan 1

Highland 2, White Bear Lake 1

Moundsview 6, Mahtomedi 0

Roseville 3, Forest Lake 2 (OT)

Reviewing D10 Website:

Blaine vs Elk River for Championship (Both to regions)

Andover plays Rogers & Centennial vs Anoka on consilation bracket with the winners playing each other for the third seed to Regions.

No OT, beat in regulation. Still not sure I'd count MG out yet.

Jefferson beat EP 5-4 OT. EP scored with 10 seconds left in regulation to tie the game.

It was actually 3-2 OT. EP did have a completely legit goal called off in the second....I thought EP diffently outplayed Jefferson in the 3rd but couldn't get the puck in ..Jefferson had some very nice chances as well..

OT -they called too many men on EP and Jefferson scores on the PP with a tip slap shot from the point.....Tough one for EP.

Jags had a goal waved off in the second period as well.

Great game played by both teams, too bad there had to be a loser in that contest as both teams battled to the very end.

EP vs. Burnsville in loser bracket. Shame one of those teams will not advance to regions as they are both top teams in state.

Agreed! Eden Prairie still has to get past Prior Lake and Burnsville has to beat a decent team from Minnetonka to get to the point where they even get a chance to play each other. It's a tough bracket on the bottom side in District 6.

Wayzata to the left. SLP advances. MG and Wayzata battle it out for #2 seed to Regions (assuming they can both win their next game).

I wouldn't be surprised to see one of the southern metro teams make a run at the state final this year. Prior lake might be the top of that group, but bville, Farmington, and a couple others have a shot. Bville with an early loss makes it tougher on themselves

We've played both of these teams. With no Fair Play Points to protect the smaller goal scorers, this will be a VERY different game than the shellacing OMG took during the last time these teams met.

So are you saying that Maple Grove can't win unless they resort to thug hockey? That they need to play cheap and dirty to win?
