worst rinks currently in use

I think I just got frostbite from the memories of that place! Nothing like playing in a "bubble" that was usually 10 degrees COLDER then it was outside, you had to walk though locker room A to get to B, C and D, the boards had ZERO give (let's face it... it was as thick as a brick wall, with the same amount of "give." I swear, it almost drove me to seek mental help!blindref wrote:The old Minnetonka bubble was not exactly a palace either
Currently...
There are a LOT of small rinks in St. Paul that I hate playing in (SPA, West Side, Harding, etc.) I actually don't mind Highland all that much. One place I still can't figure out though... Breck... and how the ice seems soft every time I play on it, meanwhile Blake always seems to have good ice.
Oh and of course I have to agree with Braemer... because I'm from 'Tonka

I'm surprised you think Blake has good ice - it seems to be chipping out all the time when my kid plays there.zamboni14 wrote: There are a LOT of small rinks in St. Paul that I hate playing in (SPA, West Side, Harding, etc.) I actually don't mind Highland all that much. So, you agree with my post about Braemar, that you dislike it because you always get beat there?

I should note that I'm a goalie, so the only ice I worry about is the stuff painted in blue.C-dad wrote:I'm surprised you think Blake has good ice - it seems to be chipping out all the time when my kid plays there.zamboni14 wrote: There are a LOT of small rinks in St. Paul that I hate playing in (SPA, West Side, Harding, etc.) I actually don't mind Highland all that much. even if we didn't get beat there... I'd still hate it. I fought tooth and nail when my current AHA team not only wanted green for a color, but also something to do with a "bee." I gave in on the green (since it was a dark green.)

It is so cold that the ice is pretty good, though. Being a coach for a January game there is brutal.Mnhockeys wrote:Isn't the one with one end of the rink runs to the stone wall? That one is quite bad IMO!5 For Fighting wrote:Granted...we don't have to play in Sunmart every week but that rink is so bad it's actually kind of cool and a unique experience for the kids. When the kids play in Fargo all the rinks tend to blend together...but they remember Sunmart!egf hockey1 wrote:Hands down worst rink is Sunmart Arena in Fargo!
