In Conference play minus STA.
7 teams, 10 games - 87 goals for - 9 goals against vs conference opponents in the CSC. (all victories.)

Outside of the conference (besides STA I added them to this)
vs 8 Class AA schools (left out Class A besides STA)
26 goals for - 22 goals against - 4 wins - 3 losses - 1 tie.

STill think that weak conference doesn't help out? 10 practice games so far with 2 more coming.....that makes 12! would be 14 if Simley and Richfield didn't raise the white flag.

Youngy,

HM & STA have to play all these bad teams because we are in the same conference with them. Question is, why would Stillwater schedule a nonconference game with one of these weak teams???

While I agree with PPG in principle when it comes to scheduling non-conference games against weak teams, it is only fair to point out that many teams schedule non-conference games against section teams to bolster their case in seeding meetings. Stillwater's non-conference schedule is very respectable, including games against Cloquet, Minnetonka and Benilde.

So Stillwater was just looking for a "scrimmage" when they scheduled NSP, huh?. Makes sense. St. Paul Saints/Como Park weren't available...ya know, another section team.

Como probably wasn't available because they had North St. Paul on their schedule again this year.

Just quickly looking at both Tartan and North St. Paul's non conference schedule I'm amazed at the number of Class A schools they schedule. Don't they get enough Class A games in conference play?

In 2010, Hill walked over Moundsview and WBL in the Section 4AA tournament. Out scoring them 11 - 1 combined.

Hill players stats are inflated though by the low level of competition they play. Said this in another thread. No points should carry onto the season stats in a victory greater than say 9 goals.

The seasoned college, junior and pro scouts look past these inflated scores when determining where a player potentially fits into their program.

NSP is in same section. So Stillwater can't pad thier stats vs those weak CSC teams Hill practices against? Wasn't it just a couple years ago Hill stopped begging Johnson to play them??

HM was begging to play them? Doubt it.

Let's see the proof.

Hill 10
Tartan 0
I consider this a close game in the CSC, the Titans hung right in there!

HM 9 NSP 0....HM 8 NSP 0. NSP 4 Still 0. Put HM in that tough SEC conference and image what would happen. At least the Ponies hung in there.

Let's give the girls a little more credit. They also beat the # 1 seed WBL in the semis.

That's even worse Section scheduling then the Boys. 4 of the top ten teams in the State in the same Section.
