Yeah, I hear you on that color scheme. I also don't quite understand the trend in pro sports to go for team names that are abstract nouns, or inanimate objects.Mite-dad wrote:I haven't seen an uglier outfit than the MN Wild. The logo is great, the color combo is hideous.
Gone are the days of tigers, bears, wolves, cowboys, and etc. A cheerleader can don a custom representing any one of those, plus any other kind of animal or animate object. Now we have "wild", "thunder", "storm", and etc. Wild is an abstract noun. Hard to get behind that. What would a Wild outfit look like?
I did a google search, and here is what I came up with potential outfits for the Wild Mascot.
A Group of Goofy-Looking Animals Trying to Escape the Zoo

A Bunch of Actors Simulating a Wild Party

And finally, a lonesome, abandoned school bus, used by some deranged character as his final resting place.

Take your pick.
The Minnesota Wild = The Minnesota Lonely School Buses??

Why is there a reference to Hill-Murray coach Bill "Lex" Lechner on the Johnson logo ?

Is it because they stole so many of Johnson's greatest players over the years?stpaul wrote:Why is there a reference to Hill-Murray coach Bill "Lex" Lechner on the Johnson logo ?
